Blower motor

I replaced the blower motor and resistor..like everybody..lol. my question is this.. the new blower motor is also very hard to spin. Is there a way to loosen it up some..lube or any other ways you all have figured out? I'm afraid the resistor will just blow again. The motor will not spin sometimes unless i jiggle the airflow lever bow the ac controls lol any home remedies?

Should spin freely

Hi. I just replaced my blower and resistor last week in a 2010 Fit Sport with 106K miles. My brother bought the car when it was about 18 months old with 20K miles, so unless the original parts were replaced before he got it they lasted until 2 weeks ago, when I lost fan speeds 1-3 and quickly diagnosed my problem via FitFreak.

When I removed the original blower it had a decent amount of resistance to spinning it by hand, and would stop immediately when I removed my input of force, if that makes sense.

The (generic) replacement blower I purchased spins much more freely and will keep spinning for a couple full revolutions when I remove my input of force. I haven't driven the car since putting in the new parts, but I do have all fan speeds again.

I have read about folks cleaning up and lubbing failed blower motors, and I plan to disassemble my failed part at some point out of curiosity, but if you just purchased the blower and it doesn't spin freely I would return and exchange it. If they give you any lip ask them to spin it to prove that the part is bad. If they won't exchange a bad part then shop somewhere else.
