Quarter mile time for a stock Fit??

How much does a stock Fit do on the drag strip, just want to know my friends Fit did 17.9 on the track with a Manual Tranny. He is a regular driver.

If he was a drag racer and had sticky tires! Heat em up, then we'l get the true readings! Should be 16.6 in 1/4 for M/T!

i've quarter miled mine, MT sport, and i've only gotten down to 17.76. i'm not the best driver out there, but felt it was a pretty good run.

i havent had the chance to drive one of these yet, but i cant imagine there being enough power that it would need special tires to keep from breaking loose. i think 16.6 is unrealistic. maybe if you are an incredible driver and you are at the right elevation and it is a really really cold night.

I've tried about 50 runs down the strip already and the best I could muster is 17.1@79mph. I checked Car&Driver and they were able to pull a 16.8.

I haven't gotten to the track yet, but i believe that a 16 second pass is attainable! Especially since i've read car and driver and other import runs of the Fit 1.5 vtec running 16.6 and 16.9 respectively!

From my past experiences running on a Dragstrip, b/c of all the rubber and the burnouts, a high rpm launch (to get the car out of dead low end torque-less boundaries) of lets say 5500 rpms will cause wheel slippage and less acceleration down the track at the same time!

Using even at least DOT approved street drag radials like nittos 555r or BFG's and heating them up REAL good will give you the traction you are looking for out of that high RPM launch and thus proving for a better time! Definately A Dramatic Difference!

Just try it! You'll drop .5 sec!

you know what, you are right. i wasnt even thinking about the track itself being slick. but i still think 16.6 consistantly will be a rarity. if you can do it consistant, then you are just good

According to C&D, 16.7 for the MT, 17.8 for the auto.

17s

I am going to try to hit the 17s at Orlando Speedway hopefully this Friday. It seems they have stopped dragging stock cars on Wednesday. I'll keep you guys updated. Wish me LUCK!

time

The fastest time was a 17.3 with a 2.4 60's on everything stock Base Fit at Orlando Speed World Dragway. That's sea level and around 80F outside.

I think 16.8 that Car and Driver tested is attainable with better tires, driving, and dragstrip (Edited: AND cooler outside temps and sea level).

I am sure someone can run even lower than 16.8 in ideal conditions just not me.

My Fit is a Spoon Replica but with only a 1300 i-dsi engine. You can check

out the pix at pics and video threads.

I took out the ULT seats and replaced the front seats with light weight

kevlar bucket seats. Made minimal mods like spoon drop in filter, replaced

the cat with a test pipe and replaced the stock muff with a spoon n1 bolt

on muff. So far the car improved on performance. But yet to run it on legal

drag events.

I'm now in the stage of getting a big bore throttle body and replacing the

stock pipings to a bigger outside diameter (2 inches).

I wanna have a go with a NA 1.5 VTEC fit. To see how my fit compares.

Keep you all posted

Those are great times! How are you launching and at what RPM? AS you can see from my previous post, I could not get a 60 ft below 2.4
