38 Fits and 18 CR-Z
What a blast right now at Mihama Circuit. Another mini circuit, 1km in length. It's a downpour right now which is making it even more fun on course as my rear tires are pretty much finished. I know people might be upset at no pics, but I pretty much dislike taking pics even though I brought my camera.
I took 2 pics with my phone as the air intake guide this dude made himself was pretty slick. Trying to post them to my Photobucket, but it is not starting up for whatever reason.

Yep, as soon as I saw those pics I said "Damn it that's my idea!!!!" lol
We need to get these pics up in the Fit Tricks section of the forum and get some more ideas and opinions. I wonder if he's throwing CELs.

Well it is that time of the year again and a CR-Z owner's club is hosting another CR-Z/Fit session back over at Mihama on the 20th. It's Golden Week right now so I am unable to mail in my entry form and transfer money at the bank. First thing Monday I will be doing so. Will be the first track I can compare my times on with the major differences in the tranny. Though if it is dry, quite hard to compare. Been raining like the Amazon here for the past couple weeks, so it might just continue for the next 2 weeks.
My A050s are pretty beat up, I'm sure I can get another session out of them, but have been thinking about picking up a new set, 215/50 front and 195/55 rear and then putting the current beat 205/50s on the MF10Ls. That will give me a more happy tail, which would be welcomed on the tight circuit.

I'm sure the owner will be there once again. I will try to talk him into fabbing some of them up, but if he agrees, no idea what he may charge and I definitely don't want to be stuck with these things out of pocket. hahaha

Maybe you can answer this question I've been meaning to ask. I've been wondering why I see so many stock intakes with panel filter, and other setups that mimic the stock design on Japanese Fits? Are there restrictions against this modification, or noise level issues perhaps? I can see good reason for keeping it, since the Fit doesn't flow that much air, but it still seems oddly out of proportion of sites like Carview, where you have people investing heavily into mods on the rest of the car, but almost always have a stock airbox with panel filter.

I have no real reason as to why. Even J's intake uses part of the stock system and adds their upper piece in and uses a panel filter. They are definitely less prone to heatsoak, the stock box that is and intakes on a Fit are not really giving much more power and even if they show an increase on a dyno, in daily driving they just might actually be losing power or having the ECU retard timing due to the heat issues. If I could run ITBs on the Fit, I would. I like sexy NOISES!!! hahaha

Thanks for the feedback! The mystery grows.
