Normal driving i shift between 2500 and 3500 rpm, if needing to accelerate quicker, or climbing a steep hill, then 4500 ish.
Maybe once a year, for 1 second, it sees 5000 rpm.
I'm not in that much of a rush to get anywhere.
Its "kind" of you but any modern built car with good stock oiling (like 90% of cars, any Honda i can think of) you absolutely do not have to do this, the redline is already pretty well below what the engine can take by fair margin.

Trick you can do if you need a bit of quickness, want to save gas but don't want to drive complete grandma mode is just look up engagement points for variable intake/vtec, whatever the engine has, in Fits case two stages first is at either 2800 at heavy throttle or as high as 3400 at low throttle, second 5000 or so iirc, in this case just keep it below 2800-3400 and it becomes real hard to ever hurt your fuel economy.

That's an interesting piece of information. Where can you find the confirmed rpm for the second stage? I'm asking because when (not if ) accelerating at full throttle from below 1500 rpm until redline it feels like the engine gets boost at around 4000 rpm.

Look at dynos. People have seen and heard changes between about 2.0~3.5K RPM.
Tap rocker control arm solenoid, etc ECU signals if you want to confirm.

Mine gets a nice little power boost around 3700 rpm, i assumed that was when the vtec was engaging.
