Locking Gas cap

just bring it to a locksmith that does wave keys such as our Fit. it is much more convienience if you use your own vehicle key than the key it comes with. But this only work with the OEM Honda Gas cap.

oh yeah. you could bring it to your dealer to get it rekey, but the labour rate on that is probably more than a locksmith.

Great idea. The second key is the worst part of a locking gas cap.

how exactly does that work - you bring in the keyhole to the locksmith... then what do they do to it?

I wonder if something like this is available in Vancouver?

odds are it's a totally different key design.

It is the same wave key type. But different cut face design to it.

This service is available. You just have to find a locksmith that does wave key like our Fit.

Speak to your dealer, If they dont do it inhouse, then they might have someone that they can send you to.

Could you please stop dangling those keys and scraping against the paint finish when you unlock your gas cap!

hahaha.. sorry, i am not a lefty, so i was trying not to scratch the paint and turn the key at the same time :P

Can't you just insert the key, unlock it, remove key and then remove the gas cap without the key inserted?

So you get the lock itself on the cap changed? How much would that cost? Seems... new to me.
