I took off the front plate holder today to wash the car and noticed a huge hole with a metal screw holder jutting out! Anyone else have the same??? There are also two little holes to either side of the center hole where it looks like they marked locations for something. Are they supposed to be there?

ezekielwhore, sorry for wrongly accusing you, I think I read somewhere that you were telling a guy to take off those front plates, and jumped into conclusions that you took it off yourself
I feel sheepish now....

BTW, ezekielwhore, how long did it take you to receive the plates?

I'm leaving it on, because I'm a weenie. Anyway, when I last washed my car, I looked closely at the front plate, and I don't THINK they screwed a hole in. The frame seems to be attached under the front bumper. I don't know how to explain it, but it's nice to know that should I ever feel cool enough to take the front off, it'll look okay.
EXCEPT... I realized that the frame has left a line of scratches across the top edge. Pictures later, maybe. My car's affinity for scratches is depressing me.
alskdjfalskdfj. This sucks.

I don't think it's a big deal. I never put the front one on for any of my cars. I live in So Cal and I have yet to have a problem.
In the event that you do get pulled over, just BS some excuse. If anything, it's a fix-it ticket and not a moving violation. No biggie.

I've been cited for not having a front license plate, but that was only after getting pulled over for speeding in the first place.
Another time, a cop talked to me, but after finding out that i was working for a club on campus, he let me go after seeing that i was a "good kid".
I think in most communities, it shouldn't be an issue, just be careful in places like Irvine or Palos Verdes where the cops have no real crime to deal with.

Irvine for sure... they'll pull you over just to kill time. One time I had a cop flip a b*tch in the middle of an intersection just to go after me in my hatch. That was fun... I guess my HIDs were blinding him. If they don't have any reason to give you a ticket, they'll look for one. Front plates may be ugly, but the $10 fine and the $10 you have to pay a law enforcement fag to check that you have corrected the violation is reason enough for me to put it on. I'm not a cheapass or anything, it's just a hassle to have to go to the courthouse and take care of the BS.
