Kogi taco truck

i've been hearing a lot about these guys and found out they would be in northridge last night. i went out and there were probably 200 people standing in line

i waited an hour and twenty minutes for two short rib tacos, two spicy pork tacos, and two tofu tacos.... it was worth the wait

Making kbbq tacos on your own > Kogi

Hint, use chopped up kimchee instead of salsa and use green onion pancakes instead of tortillas.

As a Korean, I have to say looking over the menu makes me feel gross. At least the truck doesn't look like a yogurtland on wheels.

kogi has their fare share of both good and bad reviews. generally, all the bad reviews come from the impatient and most snobby of all food critics. i'm not a foodie, not a critic, and definitely not a food authority.. just someone who appreciates good food.

i paid $12.00 for a good meal and great experience. everybody in line waited a long time for their food so the the time invested in these tacos were both demanding and awesomely-awesome. i got to know those people in line standing around me; it's not uncommon to meet someone who you've got mutual friends with. some people were going to experience their first kogi kbb taco (like me) and others have been following kogi since their conception. all really cool people so i didn't mind the wait.

Reminds me of how I lined up twice for Wii's. Well, technically 3 times. Got one each time! Sad that I don't use it anymore.
