Socal visit

Hey guys,

Sorry for the short notices, but I'm down in LA this upcoming Friday to help my friend to pick up his used Lexus.

So I wonder if you guys are up for a "mini-meet" or something?

We are going to be at Southbay Auto (South of LA) sometime around 1:30-2PM, assuming yahoo-maps' is right about the travel time to get there.

FYI, I'll be rocking stock....if I remember what James (SD_MR_fit) had to deal with when he went up.

EDIT:

Southbay Auto
13303 Inglewood Ave.
Hawthorne CA, 90250

Less attention to cops...

Just got the stock airbox on and front plate...just about it

Edit, I may carry my SHG_Mike inspired airbox with me

subscribed for interest! i just read through your scoop intake build and i've been toying the idea of starting a similar project myself. i have the basic shape all sketched out but i'm a little stuck on how to run a duct or tube from the cowl scoop to the stock intake box, i could use your enlightenment

hopefully Ghettoboy, Willitfit, or Saiko read this thread soon - those guys are the masters of impromptu mini-meets LoL..

Here what I'm planning to do, I'm going to use cardboard to get a basic shape, and shape the form to fit. As for getting the ducting, on the the Gruppem cowl, you'll notice that it's just mounted by bolts and it looked like __/---\__ (front view) or something like that.

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q.../zzzzz2295.jpg
The ducting itself just going to be right under it.

The sideview is where it get complex. In the Gruppem, they just rebuild the whole cowl to guide the airflow into add-on, I don't want to do that....yet.

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q.../zzzzz2296.jpg
What I may do is build that part onto my scoop and the front part of the ducting as addon. So it look something like a sideway "s."

Hopefully that'll help...or bring more questions.

Mostly likely I'll be in Socal at Friday around 1:30-2pm, buying the car shouldn't take more than an hour. So you guys want to meet up on Friday around 3pm for food? I'll be most likely tired from the drive.

I'll let you guys pick what great to eat, make it a local's favorite .

I'm still debating weather or not to stay the night, but ATM most likely.

1. white chocolate macadamia nuts.
2. oatmeals.
3. snickerdoodles.

good luck. I would really painters tape your whole front end.

i have like little chips everywhere from that trip.

That was a horror story for me, but i would do it all over again, just doing it the right way.

painters tape,Nitrogen from costco (they can fill your tires), and um....yup Stock height!
