Hi guys, I just wanted to let people on here know about an event happening at UCI in a few weeks.
This of course, isn't a Fit only event. I've included links below for more information.
There's really no need to start a list or anything, but if you guys want to, just reply to this thread and get some sort of list going. Or if you have any questions, please post them up.
If I find that there's more than 5 people coming for sure, I can talk with the officers of the club to reserve spots for us and also to make sure that those who are coming are "registered" so you will get food/drinks. Again, its not a fit only meet, so if you rather bring out another car, feel free to! Hope to see some of you out there!

Time for the Imports@UCI 3rd Annual Car Show.

You guys may have heard of us through friends, other sources, or even remember us from the various meets that we attempted to hold years ago, only to get shut down due to their size...

Date: February 28th
Location: UC Irvine Lot 16H
Time: Roll in starts ~9:30am, lunch around noon, and awards are at 2pm.
Who: Everyone!!

The Imports@UCI car show is a chance for everyone to come out and display their vehicles with absolutely no strings attached. That’s right, the show is completely FREE. We will be offering free food and drink to everyone registered for the show, there will be a DJ and vendors from the industry will be out showcasing their products and display cars.

This year we are simplifying things to just two awards: BEST OF SHOW and BEST OF SHOW STUDENT!

Parking for the show will be of a first-come, first-serve basis.Park as a crew!If you and your crew want to park together, make sure you know how many cars you guys have, and we’ll ask you how many when you roll in, and then we’ll allot you that many spaces.

There will be limited spectator parking, so we encourage everyone to just enter in the show and park with your friends.

There is no formal registration. Just show up and...show!

I KNEW IT! UCI stands for UNIVERSITY OF CIVICS AND INTEGRAS!!! the only college to be having an import show...

im going FASHO! but dont know in what car...maybe the fit to show some support!


side note: i need to find that jacket that says University of Civics and Ingeras...

 

and the University of Customs Integras! hahahaha

 

haha. if i remember right, UCSD has an imports@UCSD club as well;it's like a sister/brother club to the imports@UCI club, and they had a car show before too.

Yes, UCSD also has a show of their own. We now have more clubs around socal: I@UCI, I@UCSD, I@CSUN, and I@CPP.
Members from those clubs tend to show up too, just like members from our club sometimes go to their shows if our schedules fit.


Again, if you're going for sure, let me know so i can make sure I@UCI gets enough food and drinks and that you will get food for sure. They used tickets last year...not sure if they're doing the same this year.
I know it's still early so there's no rush in making a commitment now, but it'd be great to let me know by next Tuesday (2-17-2009) if possible. Thanks.

Yeah that category along with a lot of categories are gone. So sorry peter, you can't win the dirtiest car.

You really could come stock. This isnt like the Imports @ UCSD meet where they all come with their baller ass cars (although I@UCSD will still be making an appearance...prolly with a GT3 etc. etc...like they did last year...lol). In the past, half the cars that come out to this event are stock and/or beat up. haha. Ain't no shame really. Its all about coming out, hanging, chatting, eating, and having a good time meeting fellow car enthusiasts.
