Tint in SoCal

Hey guys,

Since there are so many of you guys around in my area, I was wondering if I could get some help/opinions and what kind of tint you guys got working for ya.

I was thinking about doing a high end flim like ceramic, but that will set me back at least $300.

I thought about getting a metallic hybrid instead for about $120, but I've read that can give you AM/GPS interference if there is a rear-window mounted antenna, but since Fit is roof mounted, that shouldn't be a problem.

So what kind of tint do you guys think work the best? AND should I tint the whole car or just the "legal" section?

Whole car for sure! I ended getting a metallic-y one..I'm not sure if it is the one you are talking about specifically, but yeaaa.. here's a picture :] It wasn't a great day for pictures..so the pic doesn't really do the tint justice..but yeaaa.. My cousin got the same tint for his car..but without the metallic..and I think there's a pretty huge difference. Hope this helps! :]

Depends on where you are in CA... Some areas are more heavily enforced than others, especially come end of the month. If you don't mind the risk and hassle of a $10 fix-it ticket, by all means, go for it, if not, stick to what's legal.

Johnsons Greystone, which is a non-metallic film is what I've used in the past. The clarity is awesome compared to lower-end metallic films I've tried prior to. GL on your decision....

can anyone recommend a Johnsons Dealer here in Socal? preferably in the OC or riverside area. I hope i can get a decent tinit job this time...i tinted my last car twice and both jobs were terrible! first one was bubbly and the second time there were squiggly lines everywhere...

Hey guys. I went ahead an got the tint done. Cost me about $200. 20% in the back half, 40% in the front. car looks that much dam nicer. only thing tho is the back right little window has some lines/streaks/scratches that i think are underneath the film, between the window. thinking about taking in back on monday to have it looked at.
