Questions about wheel spacers

I'm currently in the process of buyin a 2015 Fit EX with splash guards. Will the wheel spacers work okay with the splash guards? I like the look of the wheel setting out wider. Also, do the spacers cause any concerns for safety on the car? Would it diminish the strength of the rims, or back end. I just wouldn't want a rim to snap off or something going down the road.i would be putting them on myself.

I did a google search for wheel spacers and safety and stuff I read onother caused me to not put the spacers on. I'm interested in this thread to see what others say about safety concerns.

Imho using wheel spacers are fine if they are of the hubcentric design. I've used them on practically all of my cars with no ill effects. I think some of the Porsche's, Bmw's and Mercedes even came from the factory with wheel spacers back in the day.

I just don't care for that sunken-in-look so always fixed it with spacers.

Not sure what you mean by will wheel spacers work with the splash guards? The wider the spacer you use the less effective the splash guards become.

Another thing, some tire repair shops will not work on vehicles with wheel spacers.

** Should you decide to go with spacers, you may want to keep a set of open-end lugnuts for the spare tire since the wheel studs on your car will now be longer (to compensate for the thickness of the spacer) and you may not be able to tighten the spare tire to the wheel hub. Hope this helps.

I'm not a fan of them, if you do decide to use them do some research & buy the best you can find. By using them you are putting more stress on the wheel bearings. Just my .02.....

if you get correct wheel spacer with hub centric rings it no problem.
it does put more wear in the wheel bearing over long run.
i've ran 15mm-25mm spacer in many of my car and i never had any problems.
