15 rear shocks
hi folks
my wifes MY15 fit has only about 36k miles on the clock and the rear tires are cupping and are damn near bald . Normally I find that worn shocks are the culprit of the cupping .
My my issue with this is two fold .
1) 36k Miles seems incredibly low for shocks to require replacement . Is this normal for these cars ?
2) I cant find rear shocks for a MY15 fit to save my life . Rock auto , auto zone , the web site for Monroe , kyb, Gabriel all have no listing ?! Does anyone have a part number for replacements ?
Thanks in in advance fit folks

How's the alignment on the rear? Do you regularly rotate the tires? The rear isn't easily aligned, but there is a shim kit that will allow you to.
If you're willing to go aftermarket, there is Koni STR.T Orange Shocks 8050-1131 for the rear. 8750-1102L, 8750-1102R for the fronts. Several people have changed them out on their GK even though they are meant for GE

Yup rotate them every 6000 miles . Alignment , haven’t checked never seen an alignment cause heavy cupping . I don’t care if the shocks are aftermarket just curious as to why there aren’t any available for the MY 15+ fit.
does that mean that all ge rear shocks will work on the gk’s ?

TofuShop was selling a set of GE coilovers that were installed on a GK, so it seems like all GE shocks ought to work. The only thing I would wonder about is the length, I installed Koni orange shocks with a set of lowering springs, and ended up a little lower than I expected. If you're running stock springs it probably won't be an issue.
If you're the type to like a more controlled ride, the Konis work great.

Your tires are out of balance. If it is really bad, you should replace the tire(s). If it were caused by shocks, you would have noticed the car less stable.
