My No money life begins

Took 4 hours for me to actually place my first parts orders first order was Mugen suspension I live in the city and there are a lot of tall curbs and steep ramps to deal with so handling over appearance is important and a Cusco sway bar

Mugen only drops by 15mm but makes a madsive difference added bonus I didn’t have to get certification

Cusco bar is easy and effective

Bonus carbon roof nipple

Not bad looking in my opinion

Time for a tune

Took lots of hunting with a few of the guys from Torque Performance Developments but we settled on a list of money to throw at the engine
the AFE cold air intake being one and a J’s front tower bar being another while these came in Torque started on ground work for the tune and getting more bits

Bar

Quality intake

Things are looking pretty

Had to be done

Added to the collection

I had to wait while my exhaust came in the problem with being in New Zealand is things take a lot of time to get here
i went with the HKS silent high power as it actually goes into the notch in the rear lip without issue

Off topic bit it’s so awesome I want one

Piha has a fun road leading to it

I have no idea how to rotate these pics so forgive me I guess But the notch with the HKS pipe

My 19 RS sport next to the 17 RS Sport Again sorry I don’t know how to rotate these

This goes back to an earlier post Auckland city has tall stone kerbs this is why I didn’t want to go to low it’s not actually touching even when the family got in it still cleared when I almost died when I saw this

Couldn’t help it looks so pretty

We have traffic the cockpit is not a bad place to be really

Dyno & drags

The start of a beautiful thing really

The dyno helped prove the factory cats and air box are massive restrictions

He wouldn’t take the helmet off

6 horses of grass eating fury Got it up to 9 horses of finger removing hate

These were our options for the drag day

The white crab in the background won the class for the day It was running 19lb boost and a custom tune

Best part is that one is his wife’s grocery getter It has drag radials

Fun day I only got 3 runs in my kids had other ideas

Roof racks and holidays

To prove to the wider family a beach holiday with everything a family needs for a few weeks can fit in a Fit I needed roof racks
I’m not putting a hitch on

Racks on thank you Stoprust

First bike rack on

Not bad looking

First beach holiday practice run

Whole family fuel and stuff is all in there

I found a gravel back road it was 32km of dirt No Money handlers it like a champ

It needed a wash any way

New mowers

We can get Boss coffee here now!!! Fun fact you can easily keep 7 cans in the centre console

I had to make the rack narrow enough to fit with 2 bike racks and wide enough to be useful I can fit a full set of wheels ant tires in there and still mount 2 bikes on the roof I am yet to do this I will get photos when I do it

I had a wind fender but someone decided they wanted it more than I did

Cats out and J’s racing goodness in

This pipe is for egr and block pre heat. it is a work of art It’s In a box now

So much excitement

So much beauty it hurts that it can’t be seen now

So good once it was in the sound was completely different far louder and much more aggressive the Engine response is remarkable The J’s pipe went in first time it fitted perfectly. no other modifications were needed. We were waiting for the “get a hammer a grinder and the welder” moment but it never came Also it does burnouts now Both wheels smoke, it’s a sight to behold I need some skid rims now I don’t want to destroy my RE003’s early

They have a few toys here at the moment

Cats came out and into a box So much weights come out so much restrictive mass has gone

Bling because...

You're so lucky to have the Mugen Fit in NZ ! I'm almost jealous !

Nice build so far ! Did you know what number put your car down with the AFE intake and J'S header ?

And did you check how clean is your airbox with this filter ? I had issue with an HKS super crappy filter, that's why I'm asking...

And also, what's the intake sound with this AFE airbox ?

Sorry for all my questions, but your build is real inspiration....

Thanks
it isn’t the full RS Mugen That one came with more things like the Mugen TI muffler, badges some interior stuff Black 16” MD08 and the deeper front kit I needed some approach clearance so I went with the RS Sport which has the mugen “under kit”

Get the AFE cold air intake it is so good
super easy install and makes use of the already well located intake location from factory
the air box it’s self it easy to clean and the filter is very high quality nothing gets through it. Plus it’s washable

as for induction noises
There is a removable plug in the back of the air box
take the plug out and you get sweet sweet induction noises, at the expense of power gains.
put it in and you get actual power improvements of 7-10 hp top end on your factory tune.
only thing I found was the plug was loose so I glued it in place. I’m more interested in power not just the noise.
but remove your cats and you end up with induction noises anyway, so many noises.

I’m going to get some dyno time booked soon to see what I have actually achieved and see if we can tune a little more power.
then I’m going to a couple of track days and I will get some times,

So jealous of the cool bits you've got on your car. This thread may be better located here though?

Got a 48 wind fender on special Brought it way to wide had to cut it down

The j’s header results in a CEL but you can turn off the sensor and kill the light, I have not done that yet... but it’s “fixed”

Looks so good!

Any wind noise/buffeting with the all the racks? Neat setup with the bikes and the tray, very clever Tetris-ing
