Andriod phone sortof WORKS with DisplayAudio System
For reference this is the Display Audio system with the '15 LX
ITS WORKS!!!!! Allow me to clarify. The system works with MirrorLink. So check your phone specs.
My partner have a Sony Z3. When she plugs USB into the car two additional little arrows appeared the right side of the the home screen. Hit that and boom! Apps, screen mirroring and the entire shabang. I will take some photos.
We have not got the audio working but we are still testing and seeing what we can do with it.
Android and Honda Fit.... VERY HAPPY.

So you can replicate the Android OS phone screen on a 2015 Honda Fit LX screen (considering its not a touchscreen) ?? Can you replicate/mirror google maps or any navigation app, that would be very useful?
Also please can you describe/mention more about MirrorLink and how one could get/install it? Thanks in advance.

Is this another reason to buy an LX?
If I can just get the screen to mirror the phone screen for navigation with the car in motion I would be satisfied. Can you do that or is the mirroring crippled when you put it in gear?

To those who didn't notice... it appears the OP is in Canada and has a Canadian LX which has the DISPLAY audio system (which only comes on the EX/EXL in the US).
The smaller, non-touch COLOR audio system on the US LX isn't what's being referenced here.

Hi there - I am another Canuck and I have a Galaxy S5. I plugged it into the USB all excitedly and the phone says its connected as a media device (but not accessible on the audio system as a USB input) and no arrows appear like at the top of this post.
Could you please take a picture of this for us guys ?
(I have a 2015 EX)

Okay so did some more testing today and took some pictures....
First off, let me just deflate everyone a little bit.... sadly as soon as you hit drive the Honda "safety" takes over and says the function is not available while driving. All touch function work and can control and scroll all screens below.
So... here are some screen shots (all done while in PARK)
Home screen with arrows after connecting phone over USB
once you enter the "Apps" page after hitting the arrows from the home screen. Seems to just be quick keys to apps on the phone. Technically it looks like it is screen casting over the MirrorLink protocol.
Here is Google Maps and Google navigation running on the screen.
(Screen refresh rate did strange things with the camera.)
Running CoPilot GPS app. My fav
Home screen of the phone
Wanna Order Pizza from the car while at a drive in movie?

Shoot, I knew that it was too good to be true.

I haven't been able to get this to work on my EX with a Galaxy Note Edge

Have you tried Sygic Car nav? that app is supposed to be available while driving, apparently it depends on the app
the problem is that it costs 100 dlls, perhaps you can buy it, play with it and return it, that way we can know if it works (it if does, i will definitely ditch my S4 for a Z3)

Tested with a 5.0 Galaxy S5 (again) and maps, nav, screen mirroring, etc do not show up. I do have one weather app that is mirrorlink compatible, which does show up, but only when the parking break is on. My guess is that this is also specific to the phone model. Interesting discovery though!

Have you, by chance, tried mirroring via HDMI? I've heard people have had mild success with that. The catch is, like with what you've already experienced, the screen turns off in park. Sound still plays, but no video

From my understanding, the phone must be running MirrorLink 1.0 and not 1.1 (which Note 4/S6 + Edges run). I'm surprised that it only works while you're in park...I thought MirrorLink apps were supposed to show up and stay on.

I have not tried mirroring via HDMI, primarily due not having a cable. I'll see about picking one up in the next week or so and give it a shot over HDMI.

I just got my Note 4 and upgraded to Lollipop yesterday. I'm going to pickup the HDMI cable this week via Amazon. If it works with HDMI then all that's needed is to figure a way to keep the HDMI working when driving.

So, just to recap, Mirrorlink is only available on the Canadian LX/EX and the US EX. This excludes the Canadian DX and US LX, which have the 5" non-touch screen (reliable).
For Android, you need a Mirrorlink certified compatible phone. Then the app must also be certified. Then the car must be in park. All to mirror the Android screen, with touch control.
That is a lot of bother and jumping of hoops for Android users. This sounds like a crap offering from Honda, only under very particular and unique circumstances, will this ever work.

If people can deal without touch screen control, and speed sensitive volume, I can tell you that someone is actively working on a hack override to HDMI mirror any phone with MHL capability while driving. The prototype works, just need to shrink it down slightly.
