Anyone else get a loose engine splash shield under their car?

Been ruminating on this issue.
I think the problem is hitting something like a curb with the shield. That loosens it, then it works it's way off.
Either that, or a technician doesn't reinstall it properly after an oil change.
I've taken to parking about a foot away from the curb.
So far so good.

2016 LX mt, 25,606. Had oil changed 3/15/18 and last night heard a funny ticking noise. Got home, looked under car and sure enough, the shield was drooping. Was at my auto repair shop at 8 am this morning - was fixed in 15 minutes at no charge. My mechanic said the fasteners just wear out so he installed new ones.

The SA was stunned when I told him not to reinstall the undercover after the first free oil change. Now, I can change the oil in less than 15 minutes and without having to lift up the car.

Sure, but your gas mileage will drop 50%. (Kidding, of course)

Let it Be
You have probably seen my decision to ditch the cover from several other Fit Freaks. Mine came off twice (parking abutment first time and deceased groundhog the second). I knew the installation design was flakey (still love the car) from other Fit Freak posters, and asked my mechanic friends at Atlanta Auto Pro (Honda only shop) if ditching the lid was OK. OK from them, so I threw the damaged cover away and have had no problem since. Might reconsider if living up north with lots of ice and snow, but that is probably yet another cover-problem trigger as well. The incredible $500-700 dealer charge for repair is unwarranted, and my search for the part was like trying to patch up a space shuttle.

Frustrated
I’ve had my Fit for four years, and the splash shield has been an issue for two of them. It first came loose about 2 years ago. I took it to the dealership to have it reattached, but it came loose again about a month later. So I paid the $300 to have it completely replaced. Just this weekend I bumped a tall curb just ever so slightly when I was parking because I couldn’t see it. Lo and behold, four days later it came loose as I was driving 40 mph. I pulled over and saw that the front had just come dislodged, so I slipped it back into place. It was ok for about 10 minutes, then fell off again when I was driving 60 mph on the expressway. It’s going to cost another $300 to replace, I am sure. I don’t have that kind of money to throw at this kind of problem every year. It’s screws and duct tape from here on out.

Look back over this topic, and you will see some solutions people have come up with. Honda's system is obviously not good. I think this is the first car I've had with a belly pan. It can get by without one. Try a wrecking yard. I think $25 would be plenty to pay for a new one, but I'm not the Honda Profit Machine.

I've had by Fit since 2016, going on 3 winters, and have always used zip ties. This last oil change I lost one of the rear bolts, but the zip ties held fast. This is a known problem and the solution is pretty simple and inexpensive: add zip ties.

Zip ties all the way
I have 77,000 miles on my 2015 and have never had my shield come loose. I replaced the two rear plastic fasteners with 3/16” wide, 8” long zip ties. Thread them through the plastic and the metal under body. It’s a bit tricky. All other fasteners are the originals. They still work fine. Zip ties are cheap and reliable. I cut them off at oil changes and replace with new ones. I don’t see any strong reason to keep the shield. It protects somewhat and probably reduces turbulence and increases mpg a tiny amount. But the car is okay without it. I’m fussy.
