I have strange sound in my '17 Fit LX that showed up today and I am wondering if any of you have experienced something like this or can at least help direct me where to look for the cause? I was driving around this morning and all of the sudden there was this noise that can only be described as, well, a cellphone on silent. Like a quick "BZZT", just like a cellphone would do. It did it a few times at low speed (under 30 mph) and I had a friend ride with me but I couldn't get it to do it again. No vibration, no error or engine light, no stumbling or anything, just the sound and it was loud enough it could be heard over the radio. Any idea where to look so when it happens again I have a starting point? It is under warranty so should I just take it in?

 

First, make sure all cellphones in the car are accounted for and turned off if need be. Then resume your normal driving and see if the sound recurs.

If it does, note the circumstances: engine RPM, accelerating/decelerating, brakes applied or not, etc, and let us know.
