Incorrect password when connecting to WIFI

On my 2018 EX Fit, I have attempted to connect to both of my home WIFI networks which have strong signals and are visible to the car's display. But the system always tells me my own password is incorrect. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution? Thanks.

On the third consecutive day, I again tried to connect to either of my two home wifi networks. It finally connected to both. I don't have a good explanation for the previous two day's failures since both networks have strong signal strength and minimal channel contention compared to other nearby WIFI networks near where my Fit sits in the driveway of my house. I can't say that problem has been solved, but I do have WIFI connectivity.

Interesting. I have the LX. Does the EX have wifi connection capability, or you are talking about your portable device not able to connect when you are inside the car? Assuming the EX, I would disconnect and manually connect again and enter your password so that the network is saved in the EX.

The EX can connect to external WIFI networks in range just like other portable devices. I used it yesterday through the EX's display panel and built-in web browser to access these forums while I waiting on my family.

Is that just being presented through android auto or carplay? so really, it's your phone connecting to those wifi versus the car?

None of the above. Within the display settings, I chose WIFI/Bluetooth menu and then go into the WIFI settings. From there I can connect to visible networks within range just like we would with a phone or a tablet. In this case, there is no phone or tablet involved. The car directly connects to the WIFI.

Wow, nice feature. With that in mind using your phone as a Hotspot is possible too.

That must be a 2018 feature, I don't believe I've seen that on my 2015 EX.

It appears this is just tethering to your phone. I wonder if it's only for phone use and not necessarily other wifi networks?

This may sound a bit odd, but I don't carry a personal phone and I don't have others ride with me "so far". I can get wifi using the car's menus within its Android system...phone free. Then I pull up the built-in browser, which looks like a simplified Chrome browser, and it will load various websites.

I'd try to connect to another wifi network away from the house. It might not be your car; it might be the network or router, something on the other end.

That's a cool feature to be able to do that phone free. How is the performance browsing when it works?

Performance of the browser seems about the same as my other 802.11n devices with similar WIFI signal strength. I haven't yet looked up what WIFI modes such as a,b,n,ac that the car supports.
