2015 Fit wont start
#21
Hi Fibrepunk,
I ended up contacting the main Honda customer service--found the contact info somewhere on this forum! They gave me a special pass to get my problem fixed out of warranty. Sorry I don't have all that info but you can find the contact info on these forums. I also had established a relationship with a local Honda dealer, so they wanted to help once they knew I'd contacted the main office.
Your starter shouldn't fail so soon! Try to get Honda to fix it out of warranty.

Thanks for the advice, but moving on and picked up a used 2015k starter with 20k on it for $50 and got a local auto repair shop(1 hr service) to replace it for me. Car starts each time I push start now.

Suddenly my ‘15 won’t start
Never had a problem with my Fit, until this morning. Went to start her up and got flashing dash panel, clicking sound, radio turned on just fine, but could NOT start. Only way to turn everything off was to take foot off clutch and hit/hold the start button. Have tried off and on all day, same dang thing. I have had no “warning” incidents, no difficulty starting, ever. My cheap code reader couldn’t detect any warning codes, either.

Your battery could have just gone, it's a 2015 so the battery is due. That's what happened to mine a few months ago. It probably didn't help that I wasn't driving as much with the pandemic going on.

I don't think it's a battery issue. Your 2015 battery might be on the way out, but it wouldn't start the vehicle if it were that dead.
On the GK5 pushbutton start models, both the starter and the start switch are suspect.
It appears that the circuit is not robust enough to handle the load at turn-on. So either the switch or the starter go, and one is often misdiagnosed for the other. This doesn't seem to be a problem with the key start models, perhaps because the circuit is completed mechanically rather than electrically.
I see a new start switch and a new starter in your future.
