2018

CarPlay in the '15 is not an option. I'm not a fan of the infotainment in my 2015 Fit EXL. I prefer to connect my iPhone via USB cable and not bluetooth. The latter will allow you more control over the audio, in terms of stopping and starting it using the screen in the car and not on the phone itself. The HDMI connection is not reliable or consistent as well. If not for the lane watch, I'd look at replacing the radio, as I've done in my 2010 Fit Sport. That radio offers good options, but is somewhat dated now. My wife drives it and she's happy with the radio as is. I had high hopes for the Honda Nav Link app, but the reviews are pretty bad, and the $60 charge steep. I think the 2018 Fit will include Car Play, but I'm not sure.

The 2018 definitely has CarPlay as well as a change in the body in the front air dam as well as the rear bumper. I don’t think you can change out the stereo. there’s too much that it does, including The lane feature And information center.
I’ve never been a fan of how aftermarket stereos look in cars anyways. If anyone has a 2015 with an aftermarket stereo please let me know I’d like to see some pictures and costs etc.

It's not for the faint of heart, or the average owner. Trade in would be a problem as well. I hadn't even considered that. I still the have the stock radio for my 2010, even though I can't see putting that one back in. At 50K miles, it's in pretty good mechanical shape. My wife's body damage is another story though. Bringing it in today for some maintenance. It's been a great car, and continues to be fun and economical to operate.

I’m actually a master technician for Harley Davidson, I’m not really concerned with the mechanical work, I was really hoping Honda would offer an upgrade for its current system. I’m actually headed to the dealership myself today, having a bunch of body issues on my car including a sagging bumper and the white plastic on top of the hood turning white. Hopefully they will be able to fix those things

As you can see in this thread, the later models must have received an additional bumper support that mine did not get: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...rofit-gk5.html
If I had known about this new bumper support piece, I would have bought it and installed on my own. I guess I'll keep that in mind if I ever need to remove the front bumper again. It shouldn't be difficult for a master tech if Honda gives you any grief...

Maybe you can tell my neighbor that he doesn't need to start his stupid loud Harley and rev it for 20 seconds EVERY DAY whether he rides it or not. Ugh.

I’m not your typical Harley person, I don’t even rev mine at stoplights- hahaha
im at the dealership now. Let’s see what they say about the bumper. That fix looks easy and it’ll happen if they don’t fix it.
They are are looking at my hood cowl plastic also. Hoping to have it replaced. Also an alignment.
Had 4 tires installed yesterday and they found tire slime in the rear tire. It was bought new and never serviced. Pissed about that.

That was most likely from the dealer? I worked for an OEM domestic car manufacturer. I can only speak for their practices. If a tire was found to be leaking sometime during the assembly process or before the car left the plant a new wheel and tire was put on the car. The aluminum wheel was then sent back to the supplier or scrapped and the tire was put in a pile to be later sold off to some wholesaler. New cars left the factory with new wheels and tires, not ones that had been remounted or junk put into them to prevent leaking. Most likely the dealer could have warranty it instead of putting slime into it

Apple Car Play seems neat but I dont think Id ever use it. I hope to pick up a Fit in the next year or two but I cant see myself using anything but AUX or the USB connection simil;ar to my GF's 2017 Fit. That is unless using the USB automatically defaults the system to Apple Car Play in which case Im just shit out of luck.

not sure which rock u live under but i use carplay ever day in my cars. excellent for getting live traffic conditions and alternate routes, hands free texting, siri works like normal, and internet radio runs natively, etc.
i think the face lift is pretty good. just not a fan of that cheap looking nismo e-tape look at the bottom of the bumpers..but then it is a cheap car so.

For what it's worth, the Insurance Institute report on the 2018 Fit:
2018 Honda Fit
Excellent crash test results, but a big fail on headlights. That must be something new they're testing for now. As I understand it a lot of other cars failed. You can click on "Headlights" in the left hand column to see the details.

yah, too bad honda did not make any improvements on the 18's headlamps. fail..
but as mentioned numerous times, just aim it upward just a tad and it does improve visibility considerably.
one can do it with a large + screw driver or a small socket/wrench.. i think it was 10mm cant remember but it's not a special size.
take no more than 10-15sec to do.

I just want to hook into the radio with USB cable and at the MOST have the screen display song info. I want to control it through the iphone, I dont want anything fancy on the screen. Is that even possible on the 2018's? If it isnt I may just pass on them and just find an older model. I even come from a technology college and have a couple degrees from there but I literally hate that stuff in my personal life. Im still running a striped out Windows XP on this computer, I cant stand the Windows 10 on my laptop.
The tape on the Sport bumpers rubs me a bit wrong too. It matches on the Orange color but i wish it was body color on the other paint jobs. Id like a white one and I think If i did buy one Id try to use my colored trim tape stuff to color match it to the car.

Maybe Im just getting old but all those things you mentioned are just lost on me. I wouldnt ever want to use any of it. Traffic conditions and GPS are totally lost on me, the most I use is the stock Maps app on my Iphone and manually plan a route. I dont even know how to use Siri, I never have tried it. I never even knew hands free texting was a thing and i wouldnt use internet radio since everyone gouges like crazy for data plans. Im fine with my 2GB a month, its plenty for me usually.

right, that stripe on the bottom of the bumper should match the color or the car or just leave it black. i dont plan on getting the 18, but if i had to get one, i would probably just end up using some black vinyl and cover it up.
