2015 vs 2016

Hello Fit Freaks
I am looking at buying of the following tomorrow:
2015 EX 6speed 400 miles (yes...400)
2016 EX automatic 13000 miles
both are salvage repair cars and both look great. I have only driven the 2015. The 2016 is $1000 more than the 2015. I am assuming that the 2016 may be better as it is the 2nd year of 3rd generation
ADVISE???

Yes 2016 have most of the issue on the 2015 fixed. I have a late model 2015 manual and didnt have any of the issues the newer 2015 got. But the issue is what damaged was done to the car.

was that 15' in a flood?

if u work on cars all the time perhaps the 15' might work for you. but if it was a flood car and sea water, im not sure that's going to last as long as a regular 400 miles new car? u can only wash the inner panels so much. not sure, you might be okay.

Both had some body damage. The 2015 was hit on the front passenger side and 2016 on the rear door passenger side

I'd go for the '15 manual, only on the basis of the trans..dunno when the '15 in question was built, but could have the "teething problems" many here have gone through......I have an aversion to CVTs, and my '15 6spd is pretty danged fun to drive

Since they are both salvage repair vehicles, I'm just going to say get the one you like best. Because once defined as "Salvage Repair" I think the risk becomes unavoidable and equal. Both could be great, both could be problems.

A one year difference between the two wouldn't even really factor into my decision. Which one I liked best, and which one appears to be in the best shape? That would matter.
And I can't evaluate those factors with the available information.

Although I would be incredibly curious as to the story behind a New Fit (2015) getting a "Salvage Repair" level of damage in less than 400 miles.
I'm sure it happens.....but there is a story there somewhere.
