Open Entrance Gate w/o Hand-Held Remote
I live in a gated community and some neighbors told me they can press a button in their car (not a Fit) and activate the gate without having to use the old school hand-held remote provided by the HOA.
I checked out the Technology Reference Guide for my 2015 EX CVT Fit but could find any set-up instructions.
Can this be done?
Thanks as always.

My advice is ignore what "The Neighbors" are doing....
You own a Fit.
Go Old School and just use the remote. What BIG difference does it make what button you happen to be pressing in your car....Home Owners Association provided remote or otherwise?

Clip-on remotes are a convenient place to store traffic tickets.
Seriously: I too, think your neighbors are using a Homelink setup. If you have a garage maybe you should get one. Most have three buttons.
HomeLink
I see in the link above, they have visor and headliner mounted units as well as mirrors. Check it out.

Homelink will work if it is not a rolling code type remote. Well even if it was, if you can access the 'learn' button on the gate opener u will be able to open the gate from the homelink mirror.

I'd just park outside of the gate and walk home. That way, all of the neighbors could see my cool Fit.
Problem solved -- and it will "make your gas mileage great again!"
But seriously, I have been thinking about looking for a home link rear view mirror if it could be powered easily (don't want to run power lines to it). I haven't started that research yet. I'll be using remotes in the meantime.
