Automatic: S Mode?
#25
Since I drive in Pittsburgh, it's either steep hills or stop-and-go traffic, so I use S about 60% of the time. It works great for these conditions, as you get instant response going up hills but I also find much more "automatic engine braking" in S, so going down the hills seems much easier.
The paddle shifting to me is sort of a fun gimmick at times, it can make the hills and curves a lot more fun, but mostly I find myself using them while in D such as when taking a downhill off-ramp or the occasional downhill grade while at speed on the parkway. I usually "double tap" the downshift paddle and then let the car go back into automatic when it chooses.
In stop-and-go traffic, it also works great because it slows the car much more when releasing the accelerator. Once I get out of traffic and onto the parkway, I use D the rest of the time. I am currently sitting at 34.5 MPG doing mostly city driving.
I haven't used Eco much yet because it kills too much A/C and causes my cruise control speed to vary 5+ MPH while at highway speeds, which pisses people off because they pass me going uphill and then I'm closing in on them once we are downhill.

Intersting: we have a 2016 LX CVT and I have yet to see any difference w/ ECO on, except the cute green tree. The car does report about 46 mph on city/county road driving (checking after a fill-up actual is closer to 43 mph).
