Test drive of a Silver '16 LX w/ C.V.T. ...
earlier . Managed to get 40.8 on a 15 mile trip of city , county and a few state roads . 2 of us . Road quite well with the 740s' at 36 p.s.i.. Road noise is minimal and didn't hear any rattles at the time . Here are some pictures .

Couple ideas if you're still interested in a '16 LX:
1. Sell your vehicle privately rather than as a trade-in if the dealer offer is a lowball.
2. Don't be afraid to negotiate.
As outlined here in a different thread - and many others are doing the same - I was able to negotiate my LX from the sticker of $17,555 to $16,287. I requested quotes from all area dealers (and then some) and also had a quote from the Costco Auto Buying Program as insurance.
The standard tactics apply - you have to be willing to walk away from any deal you don't like, and you have to do your own due diligence ahead of time. The good thing is that these days with the internet, you can do all your price-shopping without having to drive to each location as in the past.

The Costco quote was $17,055, so what, $500 below sticker? It was only used as a starting point in negotiations, because the offers from all the dealerships came in much lower.
A warning, however. All internet quotes are not created equal.
Some do not include dealer fee (actually dealer markup) in their quotes. Some don't include destination fee in the quotes. In order to get the most from the internet quotes, read all the fine print very carefully, and don't forget all the items with asterisks, because that's where the "gotchas" are.
One dealership actually gave me a quote of $15,989. Would have taken it except that the asterisk showed destination fee was not included in that price. After I purchased my LX, the guy giving me the $15,989 quote asked why I bought the vehicle somewhere else. I told him about destination fee not included and that others beat his price quite easily. He came back a couple days later and said that it was a mistake not to include the destination fee in the quote, and that he would have given it to me at $15,989 including destination fee but not including dealer fee. Too late for him.
What I get from all this: Some "internet sales managers" put together their quotes rather hastily, and it shows. One of them called me by a different first name. Another refused to remove their add-ons even when asked. It was an interesting experience of how little time the internet sales managers were willing to devote to any particular sale up front.

The right passanger door rattles a lot and drives me crazy. Other than that is a good cheap car and fun to drive with manual trans. You can also buy a mazda 3 2014 for the same price or a kia forte or hyundai elantra used.

Thanks for the input . We're aware of the haggling . 28 years of new / used car buying from dealers . That's partly why we both have so many wrinkles and graying hair . The deal killer was being lied to over the phone before the 55 mile trip to there . Was told there was a $1,000 > $2,000 ( depending on vehicle ) cash assistance available to them to help both parties due to the Takata air bag recall . When there , they changed it to possibly $200 . If not this month , then maybe next . Don't care for those tactics . We'll likely wait it out for the '17 . Not thrilled with bumper issue , driver side rear view mirror and a possible air bag recall for the 3 generation FIT .

I think what the OP is saying is that he had tried to trade in a Fit that was under the Takata recall - '09-'13 - and that the dealership had lured him in on the promise that he'd get additional cash of $1-2K toward the deal because of it. Obviously it didn't work out that way once at the dealership.

i bought the exact same car, siiver lx with cvt, great little car completly satisfied. You have to remember you are buying a car with little dealer markup, and very high resale value. if you are looking for a deal, try nissan note, or maybe Kia. A honda is going to cost you more but you will get the $ back on the next trade.
compare book value on a 5 year old nissan versa and a 5 year old honda fit.

No need to be worried yet . It's only a chance , likely slim to none .

Bargainguy and Gderf , it's both . Mostly the deceit on the amount stated of the cash assistance to dealer from Honda .

I'm not worried about it. My question to you was what information do you have about a potential airbag recall? If you have none, why mention it at all, and why make it a factor in your decision making process?
