Remote Start for the South (OEM)
Just moved from Colorado to Texas. I did not have remote start in CO and could have made a difference for the super cold days. But down here, I it installed for those super hot days and turn on the air conditioner because my fit is all black I know it will be hot at heck.
I have read a lot of remotes for the north, but found little for southern use. Also for those that do not recommend them. I figure it would be for those couple of time when required.

In Metro Nashville it is illegal to leave an unoccupied car, locked or unlocked, idling, no matter how hot or cold.
Get the car tinted to the legal maximum (really looks good on a black car). This will help cooling the car, protect the interior, improve the mileage, and maybe protect against theft (worked for my son's pickup, kept the glass from shattering and prevented entrance).
