Econ mode/ button
I was just wondering if most people drive with the econ mode or button on or off. I keep mine off as I want the most air or heat when it is on and due not notice really any difference with gas or anything like that

I use mine. There is a difference in mpg with it on. With it on I get an additional 1-2 mpg. So not really a big deal...but I find myself becoming obsessed with improving it so it stays on.
With it off the a/c is definitely better but I don't really feel like I am suffering with it on. Perhaps I will feel differently when the temp is consistently ~100 for a dew days.

I used to leave it on but the car is so emasculated for 2 or 3 mpg. It's particularly frustrating in the stoplight to stoplight traffic SR45 and I have here. Seems like every vendor gives money off gas too. So I stopped.

Hoping that it would work for me, but exl500, thats the way it goes for us that drive little. Don't really care in my situation, I fill up once every two months or a tad less anyway

I only turn it on when I want to see how good I can get the MPG.
The funny thing is though that I got 44 without it, and 41 with it on. Now I just leave it off cause the car feels to slow with it on.
I do want to try and see if it helps in the city where I get the worst MPGs.

i've also had the Eco button on since the dealership, other than few test runs with it turned off... i didn't notice enough performance impact to justify *not* keeping it turned on.
that said, i hit a long open stretch of road the other day & decided to see what kind of speed i could get without taking it out of Eco Mode.....
i topped-out at 100MPH.
... yeah, i don't think i need to take it off Eco Mode.

I'm assuming that you just quit at 100mph as opposed to the engine limiting your speed?

i don't think it would've gone a whole lot beyond that, this was also on an uphill grade, but yeah---once i hit that point i wasn't really comfortable going much higher! i do kind of wonder what it would max-out at without econ, but i suspect i'll probably never try to find out.

Not using Econ anymore
Gas mileage is one of the reasons I chose the Fit (LX automatic), so since picking it up a year ago, I drove in Econ Mode almost always (sometimes took it off for brief steep hill climbs). My mileage (rural roads and hiway, mostly) was in the 40mpg range (or 38-39 actual, per Fuelly). When it got really hot this summer, I decided to treat myself to better A/C, and turned the Econ Mode off. To my surprise, since then the mileage has been better (despite liberal use of A/C). Better by roughly 2 mpg (42 car-reported/40 Fuelly), consistent over 2-3 months of basically the same driving and many fuel-ups. This makes no sense to me, but at this point, I don't plan to turn the green leaf on again. Well, maybe I'll experiment again in the winter -- but as of now, I'm getting better mileage (plus good A/C) than I did for the 8 months of winter in Econ Mode.
