2015 fit and a family.

I'm curious if any body on the boards have a small family and if so how many kids and how does the fit work for a family car? I Just test drove the new HRV and really liked it but wanted to save a little bit and was thinking the fit. Any info would help.

I have a very small family - my wife, our 1 year old, and me. But for our needs the car has been absolutely stellar. Our son sits in a rear facing car seat and my wife sits in the back with him. She has more leg room behind me than in the backseat of her car - a Nissan Xterra. I would imagine we could have two rear facing child seats in the back if we needed to. I would have to put my drivers seat a few clicks further forward, but I drive pretty far back. The doors open at almost 90 degrees making getting him in and out easier. Its super fun to drive to work and as a grocery getter. I recently bought an IKEA queen sized mattress (one of the rolled up ones) and got it inside with room to spare. Under $20 buck fill ups every two weeks for gas is not bad either.

It is more than big enough.

My parents had a Geo Tracker convertible & Ford Tempo coupe when my younger brother and I were growing up (mid-90's).

If we can handle that...the massive rear seats of any generation Fit can handle any small family.

I don't get why people buy suv when they got a child. Suv are not safer. In that instance they are worst to handle. Also space is not that much difference unless you use a lot of cargo space. My father has a brand new suburban and he drive it to himself. When he saw my Honda fit he got impressed. So do your of a favor and buy a fit. If you need a suv for space or off-road go for a middle size like an cr-v, Forester or mazda cx5.

My wife, and I with two kids. It's perfect imo.

You really get a lot for your money. Nice interior, 130 HP with VTEC, great cargo space, great people space, great mpg, looks good, and very affordable. We love this car, and will never sell it.

One of the kids is ten with another being 1 years old so there is a car seat. The wife, and both kids fit in the back with no issues.

We also just took a nice 160 mile trip with stop and go traffic for at least 50 of those, and got 37.5 mpg with the ac on.
