Question about climate control switch for changing wind direction

These switches are very sturdy to move compared to smooth action on other cars. When I try to control the direction of wind, it is actually moving some part behind the trim. I can here these parts moving along with switch. Is it physically (physical switch vs electric switch) rotating some governors to change wind direction? I never noticed these kind of sounds while doing this in previous cars?

It's moving a physical baffle, yes. Will probably work forever as opposed to an electronic system, that is if the knob doesn't strip.
