Konig hypergrams

Konig hypergrams are extremely light. If you were in stock rims you should notice an immediate performance increase. I have the 15x7.5 and they're great! That car looks fast standing still. Any performance mods?

These are 15x7.5, I went with a 205 width tire. The combo is amazing, feels like there's more grip and it's definitely a little quicker. Haven't been able to do much performance wise other than a Bisimoto axle back (still have the resonator) and a new oem air filter haha

How heavy are the stock wheels?

Stock 15x6" steel wheel weighs 18 lb (8.2 kg).

EX wheels

Stock aluminum rims and 185/55R16 tires were 40lbs per corner. Konig hypergrams and Maxxis Victra VR-1 205/50R15 tires were 30lbs per corner. 40 pounds of unsprung weight is significant...

Not only unsprung weight but weight to be accelerated by the engine power. 40 lbs is about 1.5 % of the Fit empty weight, so shaving that mass has same effect on performance as having 2 hp more engine power.

Mass

You're right! Additionally, I have seen unsprung equated to 7 times the mass of sprung weight which means I'm driving a 2220 lb fit basically (fat driver notwithstanding). People don't think about all the physics sometimes. When Chevy released the C6 ZR1 i read on forums the Z06 would continue to have some advantages because the blower on top of the ZR1 intake manifold increased height of center of gravity of the vehicle. True, but is it noticeable, when dealing with 650 hp and over 1g skid pad performance? I dunno...

That might be very true for track performance, but for acceleration it's pure weight to power ratio that matters.

Centric makes decent remanufactured calipers, and if you're not happy with them, you can always purchase an OEM rebuild kit and you'll have practically new OEM-quality calipers. Hawk HP+ are definitely notorious for squealing. It's the price you pay for having an aggressive compound. Also, Fastbrakes has a video featuring a rear disc install on a GD3 Fit on their YouTube channel. I would imagine that your install process would be very similar, if not the same.

Front brakes

You don’t need all of the you can make a poor man’s type r set
2014 accord or any thing that runs a 300mm rotor from Honda and the use the Mini Cooper 294mm rotor and the Brake pads from a accord 2014 or Acura TSX and you will go from a 10” rotor from the fit to a 11.5 the stoping power is great and this is all oem parts you don’t need a special order

Put on LED headlamp and fog
Tried w/ and w/o canbus decoder.
If used w/o, there is imperceptible (not to naked eye but just on camera) DRL flickering.
If used w/, then DRL goes on high beam mode. Fortunately it's only day time and the cutoff is manageable.
Not wanting to blind on-coming driver was my main concern with regard to using LED on reflectors.
Pic below shows DRL on:

Pic below is headlamp on:

Weights for the 3rd Gen black painted alloy "sport" rims and Firestones...
Using my bathroom scale which seems pretty accurate...

Stock 2018 Sport (fully painted gloss black) wheels w/Firestone 740's, 6500 mi, 7/32's tread with balance weights & valve stems = 39.6 lbs.
  • Wheels only w/valve stems, w/center caps no balance weights = 21.6 lbs.
  • Firestone 740 7/32's tread = 17.8 lbs. Weight Listed as new in TireRack.com Specs = 18.0 lbs.
  • Stock Chrome Lug Nuts = 32.25 g each
  • Stock Locking Lug Nuts = 40.75 g each
  • Konig Helium (15x6.5) w/ Continental TrueContact Tour 195/60r15 new with balance weights & valve stems = 28.4 lbs
  • Konig Helium (15x6.5) new from Konig.com 11.4 lbs.
  • Continental TrueContact Tour 195/60r16 Weight Listed as new in TireRack.com Specs = 18.0 lbs
I saved about 11.2 lbs. per wheel/tire or 45 lbs total or about 30% less rotational weight.

Konig Heliums and Continental True Contact Tour Review

Could you please confirm the size of these stock wheels, I assume 16x6".
You can sqeeze weight by going to smaller and narrower rim size. I've been dreaming of 15x5.5" Enkeis, but cost is too much for me.

Week ago installed aftermarket Homelink mirror (from eBay - Hyundai Genesis) in my wife's Fit.

Today I installed LED headlamps - created a thread with pics and YouTube videos - should show after approved as I've been lurking here since 2016 and that was my first post :-)

As you can read in my review. The Konigs w/Continental TrueContact Tour were quite cheap.
I paid just $83 per wheel. By the time I finished selling my original wheels and tires the entire upgrade cost me, $85 TOTAL!

Tire Rack specs the Enkei at 15.8lbs each & $145. A more costly solution for less weight savings, but you might shave off some more with a smaller tire, a sacrifice I was unwilling to make.

my car back to back from stock to the race 15s that are 10ish pounds lighter per corner is significantly faster acceleration. It appears to be about 3% on the odometer but you can just feel the increased acceleration....
