I disconnected the battery and wrap the battery terminals, spark plugs, alternator, and distributor with plastic wrap. Sprayed painted area including the hood and engine with little low pressured water, sprayed some all purpose cleaner, and clean with wheel brushes. Avoid everything you have wrapped and any electrical connectors you see. Then I wash away the soap with very little water and dry with leaf blower and microfiber towels.
Waxed the painted surface and used 303 protectant for plastic area.

key is use very little water and very low pressure. Dry as much as possible using towels and blow dryer.
engines are water resistant but better be safe than sorry

You can install 16x7 et40 ? It doesn't stay outside the fender ?
On mine, 16x7 et45 is the limit I can install w/o à n'y issue...maybe the Euro and JDM have a wider front end ?

16 by 7 40 offset works
17 by 7.5 35 offset works
you may have to roll the fender and the quarter panel a little bit but for the most part very minimal the fitment works well

I have actually never driven the car with stock intake on. I let my friend drove the car brand new and he returned the car with this intake and the hks exhaust . I can definitely hear the intake but I can’t say there’s any performance/mpg gain compare to stock.
i do like the ability to clean the filters. Not sure if it’s something I would spend money to buy tho. Aem claimed this intake increase 4hp and some toque.

Ok, thanks for your answer ! So, for "4hp", I'll not spend so much money... I've to find an other way to improve power

After year of putting my mountain bike in the Fit and going through the pros and cons of a roof rack versus a hitch, I purchased a Draw Tite trailer hitch that is due to arrive today. Once it's installed the next purchase will be a hitch mounted platform bike rack.

The rack look makes it for me but it’s got to be functional

I priced both out and the rack is $360 more (including the hitch cost) and it's a PITA to remove when I don't want it on there. I know it's a lifestyle/look for some but I only wanted functionality as my Fit is my appliance car. I have a Civic Si and MX-5 for looks. My wife is also 5'2 so there's no way she is putting anything on the roof.

Installed the buddy club short shifter the the CRZ. Did require a little modding to get it to fit but such a huge difference compaired to stock and cost less than $100.

Stock left, buddy club right.

Hit this section with a Dremel so the connector fits

Can't run shift boot because stock knob rubs against it and causes issues getting into 2nd and reverse.

Buddy club CRZ short shifter

I recently ordered some parts (eBay lip, Megan coilovers, and short shifter) as of today I've got 2 of the 3 items and only one of them has been installed. I read about the CRZ short shifter working in the GK and figured I found one cheap enough, I might as well give it a shot.

I found the shifter on eBay listed by buddy club for $90 and free shipping. I ordered around 130pm on a Friday and got the part at 11am the next morning, off to a great start! I start tearing apart the center console and remove the stock shifter assembly and took measurements to make sure the crz one would work. Now, I have some simple home repair tools and thought I could make it work for the mod to the short shifter but I was wrong, I was trying to sand the areas down, I tried filing it down with a finger nail file and ended up using the saw blade on a Swiss army knife before calling it quits at 1am.

The next morning I went to Wally world and bought a Dremel and knocked out the mod in 2 seconds. About another 45 minutes of putting everything back in place and I've got the short shifter all connected and ready for a test drive, until I notice the stock shift knob catches on the shift boot and makes 2nd and reverse very difficult to get into unless I want to destroy the boot. I took it apart again to remove the boot and now have an exposed shifter and ugly oem shift knob, but hey, the shifter works really well, very pleased with the purchase and recommend to anyone trying to get a short shifter for cheap.

Stock on left, buddy club crz short shifter on the right

The bottom piece needs trimmed down

Shane down the front to look like a big U

Add a rounded edge to the back edge and inside corner

Finished product till I get a new knob
