changed most of my oil, and left some sludge behind

after finally doing some research...ive come to the conclusion that i think the Fumoto on Fits probably drains sufficiently. the only concern that still remains for me is something weird like a block of ice in winter catching it. honestly ill probably put one of the first gen ones on next spring because i really like the idea of draining straight into a recycling bottle with little mess.

Good that confirms that the Maintenance Minder for the GK Fit is mostly linear and is a good representation of the oil change/interval. For S.A.G. the maintenance minder equation relating miles driven in the OCI and the oil life is about:
Oil Life % = -0.0082 (Miles Driven since last oil change) + 98 r2=0.9925 (good correlation across n=3 Fits)

The other solve was to drain the cars on a steeper in(de)cline with vertical pan mounts. That wasn't always practical - like on my Mazda RX-8 at the track.

I was being facetious. With my slope when the car is on jack stands, I'm pretty sure most of it comes out. Also, my oil changes are so frequent (thank you 175 mile commute) that I dont think sludge would have TIME to build up, for me at least
As for worrying about damage to the actual valve ... yolo man! Or, you can build an alum tray underneath? (heck, I rock an alum tray for my 2000 Insight, lol)
The first time, I used primer and all the letters came off fully before a few blocks down the road. This time, I applied paint directly to the tire. Four days in and it hasn't started flaking yet, but more time will be needed to tell if it is a viable option.
Paint used: Rustoleum Topside marine paint. Allowed about 16 hours of drying time. No clear coat.
