Top Must-Buy Accessories for 2015 Fit?
Hi all,
We just purchased our new Fit last weekend, and I was wondering what you'd all consider "must have" accessories? I've read through the mods thread, and most of them are a bit too complex for me (I'm not mechanically gifted!).
So far, we've got:
1) WeatherTech front floor mats
2) Non-descript back floor mats
3) Steering club (we live in a city)
4) Bumper bully (back bumper cover)
5) BumpTek (front bumper protection)
Should we wait for the WeatherTech cargo liner, or get the OEM one?

I have the OEM "all weather" floor mats and cargo floor cover. They're fine and look "OEM." I had Monster Mats in my previous car and liked them as well - they were a bit more rugged in construction (heavier), though. I live on a farm, so mud, gravel, cow "byproducts" and the like are a fact of life… (c:
I think you'd do fine with either OEM or Weathertek - get what looks good to you and fits your budget.

Not sure if you'd consider this as an accessory but I'd suggest getting your windows tinted along with some sort of windshield cover to keep your interior cool and prevent fading of fabric/cracking of leather.
*If you do get your windows tinted make sure that you're comfortable with the amount of tint because you still have to see at night....

Another vote on the sun shade.
Unless they've improved them since the 2012 models, I don't wholeheartedly recommend Honda's all-weather floor mats. Mine (well, the driver's one) is looking decidedly worn after a couple of years and 52k miles, though it is still perfectly functional and has no holes. For their price, I would expect somewhat better wearing power.
From what I understand, steering wheel clubs don't really provide much security. Car thieves pretty well know how to break or remove them, and they do nothing to discourage smash-and-grab or wheel theft, which seem to be much more common (at least around here). The immobilizer built into the car is at least as effective as the club in preventing it from being driven away, probably much more effective. (I also understand stick shifts can be somewhat effective, too. )

Our DashMat arrived today. It's not a perfect fit out of the box, but it's close. It needs to sit in the sun for about a week to conform to the dash. This is about the fifth one I've had in vehicles. Rather than straight black, we got the shade lighter color, "Cinder" (79). Nice. If I had a camera, I'd post pics.

I know clubs aren't perfect, but they are everywhere in Manhattan, and aren't used much in my city-- so I guess my theory is that if I'm the only car on the block with one, hopefully the thieves will move on too an easier target. I figure $20 was worth the investment.
We are also keeping nothing in the car-- hoping that will diminish the odds of a crime of opportunity like a smash and grab. We've also ordered that light up if the car feels movement, like vibrations, but we'll see how that is when they get here!

Our first upgrade was Tint. In Tennessee, they certify right on the invoice that it is legal (in our state anyway), and give a lifetime guarantee. We went with the 55% all around, even though Tennessee allows 35% (my daughter did not want a dark tint). We did do 18% on both the sunroof, and 4" sun strip on the top of the windshield. Heat reduction, prevention of interior fade, and most important, blocking those cancer causing rays!
After that we focused on items to "protect" the interior/exterior of the car, such as cargo liner, cargo tray, cargo cover, all weather (OEM) floor mats, body side moldings, and wheel locks.
We are still considering the rear seat covers.

Designed to help prevent other car doors from hitting your doors, which caused "dings". Some people don't like them, others do. You can see pictures of a white Fit, with the body side moldings:

Not only that, but they are supposed to supply you with a certificate of the tint too.

Ours was on the invoice itself. years ago they would put a sticker on the drivers side window, for the benefit of the police officer that stopped you, but now they just certify the tint as legal on the invoice, that they suggest you keep with the car registration.
