SpongeBob SquareCar makes a friend. Road trip report.

Took the little yellow car for a road trip to North Texas. Visited Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth and hubby's grandmother in Nocona. Got 39.9 mpg on freeway going up, with some city and lots of road construction.

On way back got 40.8 MPG on back state highways. Stopped for terrific barbecue in Stephenville Texas. Came out to check on the car and found SpongeBob had a little yellow mustang friend, keeping him company amidst the trucks.

Very fun to drive at 75 mph. No problems whatsoever. Love this car. Saw the moon through the moonroof while hubby was driving. Neat!

Very nice report

I'm very glad to hear the 75mph experience was good on your trip. Have you had the opportunity to conduct a phone call in the fit while driving at that speed? I'm curious if the road noise made it difficult to hear the caller or for the caller to hear you.

Thanks,

Susan

No,I rarely get calls in the car. My niece tried to call while I was entering a no service area, so I just stopped and called her back when I got to a town. So, haven't tested.

I do not take phone calls while driving, but I must say I have not found the noise to be excessive even at 75...

and, 75 does seem like a comfortable pace in the FIT. Haven't pushed it beyond that.

btw love the Mystic Yellow

So cute that the yellow mustang parked next to you! I love it when I come out to my car to see that another Fit parked next to me.

I, too, have noticed that the temps stay comfortably cool even with econ mode on. I've just taken to leaving it on all the time (econ mode, that is) and even in yesterday's 95+ degree temps, I didn't have trouble with the car cooling off.
