Satellite radio on EX

As anyone tried to wire a Satellite Radio into the interface on the back the original head unit? Is that even possible? I'm basically looking for a way to add XM/Sirius to my EX, without having another unit to mess with and tuning to a radio station as that gets messy when traveling on the road.

i was going to start my own thread on this when i got concrete info, but it has not happened yet. here is my research so far-

after reading mikeyg's post on the other thread here:

If you do want to run the new antenna, the parts are all shown on Bernardi (Electrical/Exhaust/Heater page, "Antenna(2)" page). You'd need the antenna 39151-T5R-306, 39152-T5R-A11, and 39153-TA0-A02, the feeder cable 39160-T5R-A31 and possibly clip 91533-SWA-003
so, after some parts searching, it seemed that the radio head unit was the same between the ex and ex-ln, which has sirius. in theory, you would only need the xm tuner (part# 39820-t5r-a01) and the different sub feeder harness to power it (part# 39156-t5r-a11). you would then need an antenna harness/base, which mikeyg refers to, or perhaps the xm kit antenna for the windshield (part# 08a15-0j1-100).

i inquired about this with a oem honda parts vendor, and this was his response:

I took some time to speak with one of our technicians this morning. Unfortunately Honda does not provide us with ANY information on how this type of “addition” is made. We have never done this type of work in the shop, so we do not have any experience to draw off of. So, unfortunately I do not have much to add here.

From what I show, the EX-LN has a different audio unit than the EX model. And they don’t even seem to be available for purchase yet, other than for warranty repair. The EX-LN unit retails at $1532.01. My guess is there will be a CORE on it too, which is typically around $1000. And since you don’t have that unit to return to us, it would not be refundable :-( YUK!

EX-LN - 39100-T5R-A61CP
EX - 39100-T5R-A11CP

To answer your final question, opened electrical items are not returnable.

This will be a difficult one.

signed parts vendor guy
so, according to the parts vendor, radio in the ex and ex-ln are different. back to square one...

i don't mind spending $300 to get xm to work, but i dont want to spend $300 to tell everyone it WON'T work...
