2015 Gas Tank Location?

2015 Gas Tank Location?
I read that Honda had relocated the gas tank on the 2015 Fit, is it true?
Do any of the 2015 Fit owners have a concern about the new location of the gas tank under the driver and passenger seats?
Does anyone know if the relocation has been safety tested or do we just accept the possibility that new buyers will be the flammable test subjects?
Also, it seems like a way longer distance from the gas filler at the back of the car to the area under the front seats so is there a chance of the filler tube being damaged or torn in an accident and what is it made of, metal or plastic/rubber or some other soft material?
Just trying to find out before I put down over $21K including tax and license for a new Fit.

Honda did not relocate the 2015 Fit's gas tank as compared to old Fits.
The Fit's gas tank has always been under the front seats. By having the gas tank under the front seats, the space under the rear seats is empty, allowing the rear seats to stow into the belly of the car and fold completely flat. That is key to Honda's Magic Seat.
The Fit has been on sale in the US since 2006 and I don't think I've ever heard anything explosive regarding the gas tank in an accident.

Honda doesn't build cars that double as bombs.
Ford/Porsche/Ferrari do.
BTW: Fit/Jazz has been sold abroad since 2001...always with the tank under the front seats.

Thanks for the replies
So much for reading what the "experts" on line said about the NEW Fit with the placement of the tank under the seat for this model year. The net is full of misinformation but for auto magazine writers to put out that BS as fact sucks for those of us who are newbies. I should know the forums will always have accurate information.
I will go ahead and make the purchase soon, just trying to decide on the color.

Safest Minicar you can buy!!!
The 2015 Honda Fit earned the top rating on four out of five crashworthiness tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and it earned the second highest rating on the tough new "small overlap front" crash test. See here: Vehicle details
The Honda fit is one of only two models in the IIHS's minicar category to win its "Top Safety Pick". If you are going to drive a little car, the 2015 Honda Fit is as safe as it gets for crashes. The only way you can get a safer car in 2014 is to buy a bigger car. See here: 2014 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICKs
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is an independent, nonprofit scientific and educational organization dedicated to reducing the losses — deaths, injuries and property damage — from crashes on the nation's roads.
