Smile Reclining Rear Seats

MY FIRST POST
So I've had my Berry EX-L Nav for a couple weeks now and finally sat in the back. Fiddling around a bit I found that both back seats recling a few degrees. This is new to me and I think its an awesome feature. I guess I need to spend a little more time exploring the car for more hidden features.

Did everyone already know about the reclining feature and I'm the odd one out?

Background:
I was stationed in Japan and had the privilage of owning a 2005 fit straight from the factory and fell in love with the car. I could bring it back with me to the states but bought a 2009 fit sport with Navi to satisfy my needs and its hidden feature was a storage compartment under the rear seat behind the driver. Pretty cool. I hope to keep this car for 6-8 years before I upgrade.

Should you install the cargo cover, you will find that reclining feature will eliminate the gap between the seat and the cargo cover (if it bothers you). 2005 Fit, post pictures if you have them. The first Fit in the US was the 2007, and my first Fit was the 2008. I had heard that they had been available for several years before the introduction in the US, but I have never seen one.

How to make the seats recline those few degrees?

use the same lever you would use to lower them, just go back instead of forward.

You can google search 2005 honda JAZZ. It's the same as the U.S intro in 2007 under what we know it as FIT.

New generation Fit owners would learn a lot about this wonderful little car if you read the threads about the previous generation Fits.

Yep.

Or search the multitude of threads already posted in the 3rd gen thread.

You said that you owned a 2009 Fit. I guess you didn't know that its back seats recline the same way too!

I had a 2010 and never knew it had this feature either. That said, I drove with the back seats down 99% of the time, and had passengers maybe 3 times in the 4 years I had it, so there wasn't much incentive for me to go looking for backseat features. (I did, however, really like the hidden compartment under the seat, and was sad to see that it'd been removed from the GK.)

Unless you had the cargo cover, you probably might not discover the rear reclining feature--it is the key to getting rid of the gap between the seats and the cover.

Instead of pulling the seats forward when you pulled the release lever, push the seats towards the back.

That's kind of unfair. I've tried using the search function, and every search I put in comes back with dozens of results. And I'm an old, experienced search user. I posted yesterday about Luxury Details, because when I did a search, I got hundreds of results.

I just did a search for "reclining seats" and there were 51 threads, none of which, from the title, was clearly about the back seats.

Don't worry about it, mike410b would have never reached 4,610 posts on this site if he did not like answering questions. Unless of course he just complained about other people 4,610 times. I don't have the patience to go back and reread all his posts to find out, so I will just assume he is a helpful guy.

Seats go back a tad, about 2 1/2 or so inches. Not that much.
