Bisimoto quest for the world's first boosted GK
#101
In honesty, we are not certain how easy the swap will be yet. Rumors are the blocks of the new civic, l15b7, are the same as the l15b1. Looking back at Hondas previous motors of the same series, I would think if you had the parts, it would be a bolt in affair.
Would need engine, trans, wiring harness, ecu, mounts, and whatever hybrid parts from older generations to make it a bolt in affair.
I haven't confirmed it yet but the l15b7 have the same bore and stroke as the l15a1, which means you can cheaply order turbo internals for the older motors to help hold, by engineering safety margins guess, 280tq.

While it would not be simple plug and play, the electronics from the Civic would have to go with the engine. Still easier and cheaper by far that the full tilt boogie that started this thread. No offense meant. 45 more hp (factory ratings) in a 400 pound lighter package.

Hasport and Fastbrakes are swapping the L15 turbo into a GK! They have a thread on here somewhere and on Facebook.
