SEMA-Bound 2015 Honda Fit Creations to Get Help from Tumblr

Honda is getting some help from the internet to create a few modified cars that will be on display at the 2014 SEMA show later this year in Las Vegas. Six customization teams selected by Honda will each create a version of the 2015 Honda Fit, with the entire process to be broadcast on Tumblr with voting at the end.

The six teams include tuners Bisimoto, Kontrabrands, MAD Industries, Spoon Sports USA, Tjin Edition, and Kenny Vinces. Each of which will be provided with a 2015 Honda Fit as a blank canvas for various performance, visual, and other modifications. Throughout the build process, these teams will post photos, GIFs, and videos on Honda’s Project Fit Tumblr page, where anyone can vote on their favorite customized Honda Fit. Whichever team gets the most votes will win an award from Honda at the end.

Each Project Fit 2015 Honda Fit will also be shown at the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas this November. Honda is giving the build teams free reign, so expect to see some pretty wild customized Fit hatchbacks with over-the-top body kits, wheels, and paint jobs. We’re also looking forward to seeing how these teams enhance the performance of the relatively mild, 130-hp Fit subcompact. Honda tuners frequently run wild at SEMA; Bisimoto brought a 1029-hp, turbocharged Honda Odyssey to last year's show.

That would be interesting what would come out of this. Usdm aftermarket support would be great esp if some of these come out to the market.

Spoon already wins hands down. This will be nice to see what we can get without importing ourselves.
