Driver side mirror

Driver side mirror

Anyone know what the far left little area of the driver side mirror does...the mirror has a vertical black line towards the very left

It's supposed to be an extended mirror to expand the range of view, but it's not terribly effective IMO.

Thanks for the reply, it looks like that edge area has a "bendy" like view

Apologies for the lack of a better word for bendy

I think "bendy" is the word the Honda designers used when telling the engineers what they wanted.

That bit at the edge of the mirror is designed to give a slightly wider view - like a convex mirror.

I think the only real point of it is to see the blind spot area right next to the car. You can buy similar little stick-on mirrors at many auto parts stores.
