incoming call - caller id

Hi, I'm having a problem getting the display audio screen to display the address book name or contact name for the number when there is an incoming call.

Right now it only displays the phone number.

I added my family's names to the speed dial entries. But no matter what every time they call it only displays their phone number.

Obviously this is less then ideal because I don't have the phone numbers memorized for my contacts and I want to know who is calling before I decide to answer.

Any suggestions? Am I missing something obvious?

I have the EX model with the larger touch screen display.

I am having issues with it not telling me when a text comes in but it brings up the name of a caller. Odd. I will look for what settings I have.

In search of my issue which I solved I noticed in the Bluetooth settings on your phone there is a sync contacts, and some other options. Make sure those are all turned on.

Thanks for the tip, I saw the thread about message notification.

Show notifications was off though sync contacts was already on.

I will try again now though now that I have show notifications enabled.

If that doesn't do it check all your settings on the car, when you go to phone settings on car menu make sure you press the MENU button on that screen to enable some additional settings.

The issue for me was not "notifications" being allowed on my iphone.

The issue was many of my contacts in my address book were entered in the format 1-(xxx)-xxx-xxxx.

I had to delete the leading 1 in front of the area code for the Honda's caller id to recognize it was the number calling.

Regarding the notifications for messages I decided I am leaving mine set to off.

If I receive a message I can hear the new message sound from my phone. And it is easier to use the siri button and ask siri to read the message.

I found the new message alert screen inconsistent. Sometimes it takes a couple minutes after a message has been received for it to appear.

Also the screen can interfere with the navi app if I am running it. And everytime something interrupts the navi app it can be difficult to reload it while the car is in motion.
