I've been looking at the pics coming up on here of the US models and have noticed that the fenders, both front and rear, but especially rear, jut out a lot. My tailgate is totally flush with the rear fender but not so with the North American models that I've seen.
Is that usual? I really think it totally ruins the look of the car

 

Not unusual as lots of imports have to have bumpers modified to comform with North American crash standards.

Ruins the look compared to your JDM, most definitely, but what can we do??? Any suggestions???

 

Ah OK, I wasn't aware of any kind or regulations like that. Makes sense but man, that sucks!

Are all Fits now made in Mexico, or just the ones for North America? Could be the Japan made ones, if they still make them there, have a different under structure for the bumper.

 

Japan ones are made in Yorii, Saitama with the exception of the Hybrid and Shuttle models which are made in Suzuka

 

Yeah just the North America ones are made in Mexico. Im sure the front and rear can be converted to Japan spec with the bumper covers and support beams... Something for the future...
