Seat Belt Pain in new EX

Seat Belt Pain in new EX
Wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the driver's seat belt latch poking them/causing pain? Larger than average female here but I have seen posts on the forums from users who weigh at least 100 more pounds than I do and they didn't mention it. Could it be a female hip/backside anatomy thing? I have tried moving the seat up and down and it hasn't helped. Guess I'll have to look into padding it with a towel or something. That has been a bummer.
My other major complaint is I don't understand why automobile makers still put carpet of any kind into cars now. Cheap looking, hard to clean thoroughly, scratchy...why not just make rubber floor mats or material the standard? Maybe I am missing something?
Also - I have found the seat fabric in my EX to be very rough and not at all comfortable - especially with shorts or a skirt on. Seat covers - here I come.

I did notice that the driver's latch is quite stiff and angled inwards/towards the driver quite a bit, rather than being flush with the edge of the driver's seat. If you need all or most of the seat width, I can definitely see it being problematic.
I found it to be more annoying at unbuckling since the release is more turned inward towards the hip rather than facing up/out, but there were a few seat positions that were better than others (mostly height, I think?) so maybe continuing to play with it will help?
