2015 exl
New to the forum! Howdy from Western North Carolina!
We were able to locate and take delivery of our 2015 Silver EXL last thursday from a local Charlotte dealership. We opted for the EXL with the heated seats/sunroof and options that it came with. Kinda bummed the EXL was not XM ready as we enjoy XM radio on long trips/commutes. I decided to install an XM Roadie2 I purchased several years ago which actually sounds great.
Next weekend we scheduled the car for window tint and also clear bra paint protection by XPEL.com installed on the front of the car including mirrors by a local installer. A few poser shots.
Here is a close up of where I located and ran the XM antenna/wire for the Roadie2. Trying to keep installs clean and neat, I added a tiny piece of clear paint protection under the XM antenna which is held on to the roof by a strong magnet. The wire is well hidden inside the car under the body panels all the way to the front console where the Roadie2 is located. I could not see paying the price for a an upgrade to the OEM Navi/XM head unit. As mentioned the Roadie2 works great, if you can find one and like XM scoop it up.
Cheers!

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing.
I too love XM radio. Do you have any picture of the Roadie2 you could share. Did you do the FM frequency connection or some other way.
Thanks
Rick

Thanks chasmr! So far I am happy with handling and performance, it will be my DD for my commute to Charlotte. I was hoping for Michelin tires, it came with Turanza's. I am very impressed with this car overall, but still need a few weeks for a more realistic owner review.

I will post up a pic of the Roadie2 and once I dialed in the 87.7, XM cleanly filled the FIT with clear crisp tunes. Right now the Roadi2 is sitting in the left cup holder near the shifter. I am going to mount it where it will be driver friendly. I have to study this a little first, more to come.

Hey Dave,
If you are not familiar with ProClip check this out it might be a good solution for your XM radio
Satellite Radio Car Mounts, Sirius Radio Mounts*-*ProClip USA
I currently use ProClip for my iPhone and it works great.

Good luck.

I'll second the recommendation for ProClip. I've been using their mounts for a Garmin GPS for quite a few years now. They work great. I've got mounts for 3 different vehicles (including a Ford truck I don't own any longer), and I guess now I'll need to plan on a 4th one for the Fit!
Good luck.

15SilverEXL, congrats on the new Fit!!!
Everytime I read the posts and lurk to find new ideas, it happens. Just ordered a 32 oz. bottle of 303 Aerospace Protectant cause of your reccomendation. Wanna use a product that can maintain the original dark vinyl look with giving an "Armor-All" deluxe shine. LOL!!!!
Thanks for the share cause I'm gonna give it a try!!!!

My gallon of 303 protectant arrived this evening USPS…quick delivery I might add. I am looking forward to applying this to the cars and Jeep this weekend. This stuff is the best I have found to keep interiors looking better than showroom. Its not cheap at $50.00 a gallon, but should last for many applications. . . . Cheers!
