How much are you paying for insurance?
My brother and I just got insurance for the vehicle. We got a spin off plan with Allstate, as we were on my dad's vehicle plan.
I think we're paying like 700-800 something every 6 months, for the two of us. We have no accident or ticket history whatsoever, he's over 30 and I'm gonna hit 30 next year.
Does that seem a little steep?
I honestly know jack all about car insurance though, honestly.

I have to call my guy at Liberty Mutual tomorrow to check the cost to ensure a New Fit.
I will report back with my findings tomorrow. I live in Phoenix, AZ. I ensure two cars under my policy with two drivers. No accidents, no tickets, both over the age of 30.
a full coverage 2004 TSX with deductible of 500 dollars and glass damage, third party liability coverage 1994 MR2 T/T... comes to about 468 dollars for half year coverage.
Hopefully it is not going to be too much for a new car.

I am female 25 and dbf on insurance also is 26. No tickets that count against insurance. GEICO 6 month premium on 2013 Prius C is 284 per 6 months. That includes:
Comprehensive with $250 deductible
collision with $250 deductible
Shares w/ 2nd vehicle bodily injury liability $300,000 per person/$500,000 per occurrence
shares w/ 2nd vehicle property damage liability $100,000 per occurrence
All of this coverage is included in the $284 per 6 months premium. I quoted what I will be paying for identical coverage on the 2015 Honda Fit that will replace the other vehicle on this policy. For EXACT same coverage that we have on the Prius C the quote is almost exactly $10 less, $274 per 6 months premium. Probably a bit less since I'm the primary on the Fit.

Well, I have no idea about price differences between different areas since I've only bought insurance in one region!

$536 per year. $100 deductible collision, $0 deductible comprehensive and $500,000 liability. It all depends on where you live, your age, and your driving history. Another BIG factor is your CREDIT RATING.
If you want to compare rates, look at USAA and then State Farm, GEICO, and Progressive if you can stand their political affiliations.

I got a bunch of discounts. My discounts total $416.65/6 months.
Safe Driving Club - $60.62
Multiple Policy - $4.25 (I also have my renters policy through Allstate)
FullPay - $45.07 (paid for the full 6 months all at once, saved some $$$)
Allstate eSmart - $46.68 (sign up to get all documents and bills online)
Passive Restraint - $3.61
ABS - $32.64
New Car Discount - $105.83
Electronic Stability Control - $32.39
Also keep in mind all of the variables that go into insurance (where you live, your credit score, etc.) I live in a pretty safe city and my credit score is right around 790, so that really helps. And my commute to work is less than 3 miles which helps too.

I'm 31, no tickets or prior accidents, clean driving record. My premium for full coverage is about $640 per 6 months with Geico.
Honestly, I think it should be lower. I'm over 30 and I reported driving the car under 3K a year AND I live in a really safe neighborhood.
If its $700-$800 for you both combined meaning you each only pay $350 to $400 thats a really good price I'd say. If you both pay $700-$800 independently that does seem a little expensive.

Hey guys, reviving this old thread.
I've got Progressive quoting me $592 for $500 collision deductible and $520 for $1000 coll. deductible. I opted for the $520 / 6 months figuring I'll save $70 / mo for now and change it later down the line if I need to. $70 * 12 is $840 so that's money going into deductible or money I'm saving every year. So at least that's my reasoning. But a question ... did any of you have difficulty with the insurance? They can't seem to verify my VIN# for the car. Wondering if it's because it's still new, hasn't been registered to DMV etc things like that. What gives?
Edit: forgot to mention I'm 32, SoCal LA, clean driving record, no accidents, work in healthcare so my commute ranges between 23-50 miles one way which probably plays a big factor towards the rate.

Ah ty SR45. I'll probably know for sure when the bills start pouring in next month for the car. ATM I'm more worried about getting the car properly covered, since they also asked me what my loan info was, but since I don't know yet from Honda ... I told them I didn't know. Then again they didn't seem to care much.
