Gas mileage will always be less in the winter time because of the fuel. It's blended differently than the summer blend.

We just took the new Passion Berry Fit on its first longer highway trip at 300 miles old and it got about 40-42 mpg average. On a 15 mile section between stores we went to i pulled 63.8 out of it. Granted that was downhill sections mostly and in 6th gear at 45-50 mph but still. I liked watching it climb up the whole time. Shes seeing mostly high 30s/low 40s for average so far. Not a ton of highway except for today.

Mostly downhill and some flats. I was basically idling it for most of the time and feathering the gas on flats. Not representative of anything, I just liked seeing how high I could get it on that 15 mile stretch.

Hills are great, except for the return trip. I can average 55 mpg going into town (15 miles), but coming home, it's more like 42 mpg. Still, it's better than anything else I've owned.

Had an opportunity to put some miles on my other rig in the last couple weeks, Jeep wrangler , 1994, I had to drive about 150 miles round trip twice in one day, the station near my folks house carries non ethanol farm gas. So what the heck I filled up with good old 87 octane gasoline.. No Alcohol! ,, I was down to fumes so it took 19.2 out of 20 gallons.. (I normally don't do that.. had a case of not paying attention.. LOL) Well the cool part was I normally get 240 miles on a tank of E10(Putting in about 17 gallons). I got to 300 miles on the return trip and filled it with 16 gallons. I'm going to try this with the Fit next chance I get just because...
I kinda blame the Chrysler EFI programming, it sucks,, my wrangler never got great mileage and the more alcohol in the fuel it gets exponentially worse mileage.

I had a 2009 Nissan Cube, and I struggled to get an average of 30 mpg. Yesterday, I took a 30 mile ride. I averaged 54 going and 44 returning. That's what happens in hill country.

Yesterday, I was on a 25 mile mountain descent when I learned the MPG calculator maxes-out at 199.9. What a disappointment! I reached the limit after 20 miles. I still had another 5 miles to go. I wonder why Honda put a limit on the MPG value.
