2015 Alabaster Silver Honda Fit EX w/CVT
Vehicle price: $18,725
Accessories:$896.00 (car starter, all weather mats, splash guards & wheel locks)
NYS Inspection: $10.00
Waste Management fee: $12.50
Sales tax (8%): $1569.68
Registration fee: $127.00
Dealer's Processing fee: $75.00
Total cash price: $21415.18
Less deposit: $300.00
OTD: $21115.18
I splurged on the accessories since I was getting a brand new car!
Picked up my Fit this past Tuesday after waiting 3 weeks (I must admit that my wait was not bad compared to what I have been reading on other threads). I gave my college bound son my '06 Civic that has 225k miles and it still purrs like a kitten.
Lovin' my Fit!!!!!!

Finally got my hands on a White Orchid Pearl EX-L Navi, the quality issues thread had me super worried about buying a car sight unseen but it's perfect. Whew!
MSRP: $21,590 (incl. destination)
Negotiated Discount: -$190
Honda College Grad: -$500
------------------------------
$20,900
Was able to get away with no add-ons like paint/fabric protection, powertrain or tire warranties.

It looks to me like they added the $895 transportation fee in after it was already in the list price of the car. In effect charging you $895 too much. A Fit EX CVT has a list price of $18,235 and the transportation fee is $790 for a total list of $19,025. Unless you were paying to ship the car somewhere else, there should not have been any additional transportation fee.

Delivery/transportation should only be $790 unless they are delivering the car from the dealer to you, then it's negotiable.
EX unit prices should be 18225 (MT) or 19025 (CVT) after delivery.
I'm assuming you are in NYC based on your profile.
In NY, inspection should only be $10 on a car less than two model years old (no emissions inspection is required). After that it's $37 in NYC and surrounding counties. These are DMV regulated fees.
Registration also looks way off as it should be $197 (give or take a few bucks if there are liens depending on how the liens are registered) for a new Fit in NYC (it varies by county outside the city). Breakdown: $42 for 2-yr registration for this weight class, $30 for 2-yr use tax in NYC, $50 for MTA 2-year surcharge, plates $25, title $50. (This is for a new registration, if you are transferring plates it would be less). Source: https://transact.dmv.ny.gov/RegFeeCalc/
Some dealers will overcollect on the DMV charges and then refund you after based on "not knowing exactly how much it costs" (which is BS because the costs are pretty easy to calculate if you do some legwork).

First time walking into a dealer by myself and left with my first new car and first Honda
LX automatic no accessories
San Francisco, CA
$16615 with out the door price of $18400
Emailed some dealers for price quotes and got a Edmund's Price Promise of $500 below MSRP at one dealer. A closer dealer price matched it (I made the mistake of telling them I preferred a closer dealer rather than just asking them to beat the price - don't be toooo honest). Went there at the appointed time, got in the vehicle and a family also wanted to check it out. Maybe my salesman was young and less pushy but was no-hassle, until the finance guy almost convinced me to buy the extended warranty (Hondacare I think), which was offered after I declined his first warranty offer (3rd party maybe? Iono). But the Hondacare was up to 7 years/80k miles or so, regular cost was over 2k, but he crossed out 1k due to a "promotion", then dropped another $200 after I declined again to $1.1k'ish. I went to the restroom to think it over lol, but declined at the end. I could tell the finance guy got a little agitated in the way he seemed to fling the papers my way to sign. As I left the white EX I was eyeing earlier was also sold..
Most dealers were set at MSRP and wouldn't budge, 1 went down $100, 1 had a Edmund's Price Promise $1 below MSRP (lol f u Livermore), so I was surprised Edmund's pulled through and saved me $500. Just remember a dealer might want to see the quote if pricematching.

Buyer services can help
I've been negotiating in Sacramento, CA for a couple of months, going through Costco's auto buyer connections. I have reached a verbal-email agreement with two area dealers who are quoting me $100 over invoice, and I get to say no to add-0ns. It comes to about $18,600. Out here, no one will forgo the delivery fee it seems. I'm after a pearl white EX and since it will be my last car, I am willing to wait to get what I want.

Finding 15 Fit.
Erikdag, thanks for the heads up on Roseville. I will give Wes a call and see what they have. Miata Honda, used to be Carmichael Honda has been promising me on for two months. I realize that it's not been their fault, but I'd like to find what I want without the blems that are being described on the various forums.

I bought my Fit about three weeks ago. Here in MA they are selling the day they arrive at the dealership. I happened to get the lowest quote from the place that already had the one I wanted. I was the second and last person the test drive it. Fate.
EX CVT Modern Steel Metallic
wheel locks, no other upgrades.
20,606 out the door.

Bernardi in Natick.
things to note about them:
They require a non-refundable $500 deposit, which is odd.
They emailed me a quote that was lower than MSRP (and lower than other dealers in ma) and had to honor it.

LX M/T Milano Red
MSRP: 16315
I Payed: 15910 + tax and fees
OTD:~17550 (California tax sucks..)
@ Mike Houser,
18,000 out the door with an EX auto.. you got really lucky. I would assume it was an error on the dealers part and they actually lost money.
Either way, congrats on your incredible score! Don't think anyone will be beating it soon =P
