MODS/ACCESSORIES for the GK

We got the same output engine as the GD5 from 2002. Same gear box, too (5-speed).
The rear brakes are drum also.
It is a real shame.

I accidentally turned this into its own thread when I wanted to just post here. I'll post the pictures in that thread after I take them.

My black velour Dashmat came today. The difference without it is better than I hoped. The amount of glare on the glass from the dashboard is nil. I feel like I could just be parked under a tree or bridge with the car just inside the shadow but everything else remaining bright. Particularly with all the snow on the ground/in the fields, I didn't have to squint nearly as hard without my sunglasses. Really, I barely had to squint at all. Of course these results will vary from person to person, but I'm extremely happy. I don't know if other colors would work as well or possibly cast a sheen of the fabric color on the glass, that's why I chose black.
I was surprised at how light the Dashmat actually is. I was expecting something fairly heavy, like a doormat type of backing, but it's very flexible and lightweight. I don't think that's a testament of it's its durability, though. I think it will last a good, long time. I received four strips of single sided Velcro to trim and place on the dash too hold it in place. I think that will be important so wind can't move it around when it gets warmer and I can roll the windows down. I think more Velcro may be needed to keep the Dashmat contours lined up with the dash, but I haven't had a chance to do that yet, so I'll find out.
It didn't have cutouts for the tweeters, but they claim it's not an impedance to sound passage, so that's all right. The Dashmat also covers the where the previous Fits had the upper glovebox.
Overall, I'm initially very pleased with the Dashmat, I'm looking forward taping it in place. Pictures will follow soon. I didn't have a camera on hand for manual exposure, etc.

Here are some pictures with and without the dashmat. They were taken a little bit after noon. Please excuse the differences in angles and direction between the two pictures.
Without the Dashmat.
Partial hybrid picture.
Opposite side hybrid picture.
Full Dashmat picture.
Both pictures were taken with the same camera at the same exposure and aperture settings. I believe it was "ISO" 100 at 5.6 aperture and 1/640 sec.

I ordered it on eBay. I think it may have been Dashmat's eBay store, but the seller's name was different. The price was better than Dashmat's website direct price. With shipping included it was under $50 and it took 2 or 3 weeks for them to make it, ship it, and for me to receive it.

My set of sill protectors came today. They didn't take long to put on. I would imagine that the Honda OEM fit the contour of the sill better, but they're only $29 shipped. They do look nice and came with 3M adhesive on the back. It's probably a little cold out for them to stick well. It was only 29F outside when I put them on.
Here's the front

Picked up the Bisimoto Pulse Chamber at Norm Reeves Honda in Irvine sounds amazing, deep tone and no raspiness. It has stock piping i just bolted on the muffler i'm going to my exhaust shop to get 2'' straight pipe from cat to the pulse chamber. I tried to upload a sound clip but my samsung chromebook sucks.

As of last night upgrades for my Black EX-L include: (sorry so pics yet).
-Remote starter Dealer install - (not worth it.. you have to start your car then it stops when you get in and you have to restart)
-Splash guards
-Trim guards
-Door trim
-Cargo Tie downs
-Interior illumination - Easy install. Plug and play.
-door visors
-Window tint (30% on front doors / 20% on the back and rear) - staying legal for Washington.
- EcoHitch - Spent a lot of time researching on how to not impede my aerodymanics and found this. I opted for the 2 in so I can fit any bike rack. Turns out I can only fit one aero bike inside at a time. (Still more room then my Durango had).
- Led interior lights - a must for anyone that likes to see and it only takes 2 mins for all 4 bulbs...
-RS Emblem in back
-I-vtech door decals
-Door sills (non illuminated)
on the way:
I-vtech badge for rear hatch
RS badge for front grill
Honda Red badges for front and rear
I must say I am broke but still able to keep playing...

As for being broke, that makes two of us, at the very least, on this thread!
Installed my factory JDM RS GK emblems last month. Had to drill three holes on the front grill to accomodate the clip with screws but at least the rear has 3M tape.

Extra Large Cup Holder
My attempt at creating an extra large cup holder for my hydroflask. Not too bad, $7 DIY. Home Depot
Add some matching paracord wrap to make cup holder more pleasant. Very functional and no drilling or damaging car. I put a leather cutout from my nose mask that deters stretching on my center console.

Finally making some progress with the sub and amp. The sub box is now built and installed. I went for a 10 inch sub in a fibreglass box that will run at 2ohms. The trunk light has been upgraded to LED and moved into the sub grille.

Had planned to cover in vinyl but have gone for bed liner as the dogs would scratch up the vinyl too quickly.
[/URL]
Have also put some deadener into the box and have used glass wool in the box.
