Tasty Antenna?

Tasty Antenna?
Weird problem..
Something (or someone) has taken a liking to the taste of the tip of my Fit's antenna.
The squirrels are crazy around here this fall so I suspect that may be the culprit. But it stays garaged 95% of the time...
I was thinking of going to the "shark fin" style anyway.
Anybody have a good source for one?

OK...sure...but...
I guess my concern is some "critter" has become obsessed with your antenna, and you put back one that is exactly like the one that has already been chewed? Well, I'd be afraid that would be like simply buying a new chew toy.
At least with a switch to a Shark Fin, you're taking away the shape and size that evidently attracted something to your vehicles antenna.
Of course the gamble is, you could put a new Shark Fin antenna on your roof, and then come out to find it chewed on...but?
I think I'd still take this as a chance to upgrade. I think Shark Fins look a lot better than the OEM mast antenna.

Well, at least it should be a lot harder to chew on and shred.
Don't want to rain on your new antenna parade BUT...
Did you read this from the sellers description of their own product?
" Antennas main design is for appearance enhancements. AM/FM reception performance may decrease. "
They even go on to recommend looking at a different antenna if reception is a priority.
When the seller is warning that the reception may decrease?
Well...if you at all USE your radio, I think that would make me look elsewhere.

Yes.!!!
I saw this too.. after I bought it.
But, I'm happy to report that I can't tell any difference in reception or signal, and I'm on the fringe of some weak stations.
I swapped antenna back and forth several times on different stations and there was no real change. The weak stations were still weak and the strong ones were still fine.
Of couse this was with a partially chewed off antenna, so there may be some issues with that..
Some glamour pics:
Had to wash it up…
