Continental DWS question.

Continental DWS question.
Hey guys. I did a search and hadn't found anything definitive so I figured I'd make a thread. Forgive me if I missed a post that explained this:
After 23k on the Dunlops, one ripped open and I replaced them with Conti DWS.
I was worried because some people stated claims of lower MPG, but some people said it stayed the same or got better so I went with the DWS.
I've driven on them for about 600 miles so far and I'm getting a 3-5 MPG loss.
I would consistently get 37-38 mpg going to and from work (not highway) on the Dunlops, and could get 40 or more on the highway sometimes. I even got 41 MPG going to and from work on a tank once. My MPG right now is 35.7, not terrible but to get that 35.7 I have to drive the car like a fragile piece of glass, I'd be getting 40+ MPG on the Dunlops with the way I'm driving on the DWS's.
I was wondering what the optimal PSI would be to try to get that number up again? If I need to raise it, will it make my ride more noisy/stiff?
And also, what would be the optimal PSI for snow driving so I can adjust it when winter comes.
The difference is only a few dollars per fill-up but I still want to get the MPG up again if possible. Thanks.

It should net you less MPG because the tire is one pound heavier than the Dunlops.
I'm one of those that generally get less MPG than stock.
As for optimal PSI, only you can say... It depends on driver and conditions. For myself, I use 38 PSI generally. And yes, it does make it stiffer.
