Anybody run these on a stock 16x6 53offset rim? Lowered or not.

I know that a few people used to pack 225 R comps onto the '07 15x5.5 GD3 sport wheels to run in H stock but they hated all that squishy side wall action... So in theory I guess it could be done if you know a guy willing at the tire shop...

I thought the RS3 got banned in the new road tire class?

I thought so too, but when I brought it up at the last autocross someone said it was withdrawn almost immediately(I'm checking into it). Besides I worked it out and I'll prolly have worn through them by March when we host the Dixie National Tour. Besides, besides I'll prolly be in STF next year if not sooner.

I was responsible for the "WE DO NOT MOUNT RACE TIRES" sign at the local Wally World after they mounted 205/55 14 BFG r-1's on 14x5 honda steelies for me in the mid 90's. R-1's were know for being able to support the weight of a car with no air in the tire. The sidewalls were basically a solid wall of rubber.

Thumbs up

Hahaha, that's awesome! I'm glad I have friends that sling tires

Good thing about the RS3. I could not be happier with my set! A little chunking from to low a tire pressure on an aggressive surface and an over aggressive right foot but no fault of the tires!

They wouldn't be your friends afterwards.

The rubber were looking at for next year. Great selection for us using 16" wheels and very lightweight. Currently running Star Specs.

My next event is Sunday and I just got my new wheel combo mounted and aligned with the same 225 45 15 RS3's.

My friend just mounted 225 45 15 R1R's so we should get a great comparison on Sunday...

scca keeps going back and forth but I'm pretty sure 140 treadwear will be gone from Road Tire Jan 1st 2013 which means no R1R or R-S3. I would've stayed with Star Specs but the price went up.

Not officially STF yet and not enough sheckles to buy rims AND tyres at once.
