205/50R16 with spacer question

Is anyone running spacers with a 205/50R16 mounted on the factory SPORT wheels? Guessing a 20mm will for sure fit, but ideally I would like to run 25mm (Rear) as long as nothing rubs.

I had a similar question. I want to keep my 2012 sport wheels and was wondering if, using spacers will improve the handling by pushing the wheels outward? I have lowered the car on Eibach springs and plan on buying 205/50/16 tires in the future. What is the maximum spacers front and rear and is anyone running this setup?

Thanks

what's the offset on the stock sport wheel? knowing that would be the starting point. I used to run +47/F and +45/R... I think pushing the stock wheel out +45/F and +42/R should be perfect without any fender rolling.

Offset on 2010 Sport Wheels

From what I have searched here on FF, I am pretty sure the offset on the factory sport wheels is +53

I was on 16x7 +40, so actually 19.3mm less offset, and I didn't rub. 20mm spacer should be good. 15mm would be safer as I didn't load my car down while I had that setup.

Thanks for the link I always try searching or finding a thread to post my question rather then start a whole new thread. Thanks again.

No problem!

If you type "Fitfreak.net + your question or search words" in Google it does a bit of a better job finding things than the forum's search engine. Or at least it shows the results in a little easier to read form.

I have 20 mm on my rear wheels on my 09 Sport. Tires are 205/50/16. Wheels are 16x6 et53, which is now et33 w/ the spacers. IMO 20mm on the rear w/ the 205/50s is PERFECT. Had to roll my fenders for sure, as well as flaring them slightly. The fitment is perfect. The tires don't rub and they tuck right behind the fenders w/ almost no gap between the two. About to order 15mm spacers for my fronts. Should be sweet! I'll try and get pics...

No time to take pics today. When I get my front spacers installed I'll take some pictures of the front and back clearance.

Here's a few quick pics for reference. 205/50/16 with 20mm spacers. Fenders rolled. It's not slammed or anything, but when I put on the 15mm fronts I'm going to take a collar or maybe both out from the back. Will post more pics of front and rear when I do that. You can see in the last pic tho that the tire has just enough room to tuck behind the (rolled) fenders. I compressed the suspension when I had it on jack stands to confirm this. So right now on bumps there is no rubbing at all, and it will be the same story when I drop it more.

They stick out a little further than the stock 185s, obviously because the tread patch is 20mm wider, but they don't look bad at all. I think 205/50 is the proper size tire for our stock rims, screw the 185/55s!

I guess technically the tire should only poke out 10mm more on each side of the wheel. That's so small you don't get any "bubbly" look to it.

Finally had time to wash the car and take some pics. Tires still a little milky from the tire foam...20 mm spacers on rear and 15 on the fronts. 205/50/16 tires.

Didn't have to roll the fronts. Just cut the lip of the actual fender liner off and bent back the tabs on the fender lip.

Since you installed the spacers have you notice any difference in the handling? It looks great.
